| Did you have any patience to begin with Jon? You probably had this post typed up before kick off.
That was horrendous though, probably our worst performance since that infamous Widnes game last year, and the only shred of positivity I can take from tonight is that we recovered from that game to become Champions little over a month later, and while the Super League might be out of reach for this year we still have one trophy to play for and maybe tonight can be the catalyst to get us to Wembley.

At the moment I watch the team through a sense of loyalty, I don't look forward to the games, I don't enjoy the games and I don't enjoy the atmosphere in the ground.'"
Ive been in the sense of loyalty camp for about 3 years and tonight posted for the first time in weeks trying to pump myself up for the game because if I'm honest I wasn't really arrised about playing Wire when a few years back after Saints it was Wire who I wanted to beat the most.
I sit in the south stand and there is no atmospheres again tonight. Everyone trudged off tonight in silence I think stunned how awful that was.
I can excuse attacks breaking down due to good defence or just poor execution but I can't excuse lack of intensity or urgency. I have more urgency in me after a round of beans on toast followed by a few pints of Guinness than that team has at any point in any game.
Too many highly paid players incapable of playing 80 minutes is soul destroying to watch.

I very rarely post on here anymore because there is very little to post about of interest.

It's sad that it takes an awful display to generate a bit of interest on the forum.

| Quote: jonh "As much as I love Wigan RLFC am I genuinely the only supporter who no longer enjoys watching this team?
I watch nearly all the other teams and only when they play us do I see them drawn into a dull 1 out snoozefest.
We have talent in this team but absolutely 0 direction.
Only when we look like losing do we start to play rugby.
For me we need a wholesale clear out of the coaching staff starting with Bitcon and finishing with Wane.
No team has been affected by injuries like us in 2 years and equally no team looks so lacking in any atacking ability and also defensively poor.
Time for a change for me.'"
I agree. The (too many) injuries have been masking the problem with coaching and tactics. Even with the injuries we should have won some of the close games we lost or drew and would have with some tactical nouse. Which would have put us well up there with a top 4 chance which is a bit of an indictment on the competition itself but nevertheless just highlights how poor we have been not to take advantage.
We need a coach who doesn't have mates in the team and a coach who can set the tactics according to what he has available player-wise and adjust things for how the game is going. We can't even decide if we should take two points for a penalty.
As to an answer to your first question, no you are not the only one who no longer enjoys watching this team. It's a chore and if nothing changes in the off season then renewing the season ticket is going to be a long hard decision.

| I'm an avid rugby fan and can't see that ever changing, I did find my mind wandering during that game though. We seemed to be playing against ourselves a lot of the time.

A game lasting an hour and 50 minutes with zero intensity is killing the love of my sporting life.
I've already decided that IF we beat Salford I won't be going to Wembley. I've been to every CC final since 1970 where we have participated but I have no intention whatsoever in going this year.

Agree on the first and second point. Really struggle to say Wane out after the success he's had but it's not happening.
We need another Madge! Or drag Barrett away from Manly.... dreaming I know.

| You wouldn't think this Wigan team train together . They look like 17 lads who have just met for the first time . They do not run onto the ball , there is no support play , one man drives and drop offs are becoming both predictable and mundane, we are clueless in the opposition 20, kicking the ball when we have 3v2 on the 3rd tackle is criminal.
I could go on
Leeds will stick 40 up us next week

| It's difficult to know where to start with that, but to save a show like that for Lockers' 400th was verging on the criminal.
There is literally nothing good to say about what was shovelled on that pitch this evening.
Every single aspect of Wigan's play was awful-to-poor. Every player should hang his head in shame. We must have written a new book out there tonight: '101 Ways to Lose a Game that You've Never Previously Thought About'.
After a trying season for all kinds of reasons, that was the nadir. I feel totally dispirited at present, but what really bugs me is that we're up to the salary cap. What kind of money are some of those men earning? I hate to think what would have happened to me in my career if I'd been as bad at my job as some of them are.

| Quote: NickyKiss "We looked so slow and lacking in energy is beggered belief really. Even Bateman who still kept going until the very end and threw himself about looked leggy and missed a tackle he'd usually gobble up on Julian for their first try. I felt for Marshall who looked like he'd lost momentum and confidence from his spell out the team.
The other props should have a whip round for Tony Clubb tonight and pay for a relaxing couple of days away for him after he tried to carry them on his back! He's had a kidney removed two months back and still played with more energy and desire then any of the others. After picking up the last two weeks Nuuausala hit rock bottom tonight.'"
Yes, this, and most of what you guys have said too. Deeply dispiriting, and speaking as a first-time ST holder this season, I won't be looking forward to next season either unless there is some change at the club. FPN can eff off back to Australia as soon as he likes, but he's far from being the only problem. Only Tony Clubb can hold his head up after that performance. Feel for Lockers after all he has done for the club.

| Wire had a very strong side out, but they didn't need to be good to beat us, and they weren't.
