Burgess will be a top winger again after a few months back home, he's been part of the scapegoating going on at the Roosters and Souths, usually the biased TV pundits (which all of them are not) due to their woeful seasons.
Roosters were destroyed by Melbourne last weekend with so many top players in their team, Robinson will be gone end of season.
Souths...Where have all their players gone?? To fit a misfiring Sam B under the cap, massive mistake, Inglis injured all the time, even the players left look a shadow of the Premiership winning team pf 2014.
Mcguire came to Wigan and won the GF first season and cup next, went back to Aus and ended South's 43 year drought of Grand Final succes but looks lost this season, what's gone on there, i imagine plenty behind the scenes.
I'd take MM back on a big contract tomorrow, he is Mr Disciplne and would sort our rabble out within weeks.

| Burgess at times has looked like a young inexperienced kid thrown in at the deep end that is exactly what he is.
It was a tough night for him, his first drop was a little unlucky as he lost his footing going into contact collected an elbow to the head and lost the ball. The high balls are an issue that needs work and he got targeted coming up with 2 big errors. His confidence in that department looked shot to bits.
On the positive side, his went on the outside both chances he was given, set field position for a try for one and was robbed of a great try on the second occasion. Terrible video ref decision which should have put Souths back in the game.
His carry is strong clearly added some mass in the last year.
He went out as an inexperienced winger after a boom season, he is returning a more experienced player with extra size but still with issues in his game. He will be under less pressure playing a lower standard which is the ideal place for him to work on those issues and regain his confidence.
I'm genuinely not concerned in the slightest by his form at the moment but I am excited to see the areas he still has, the areas he has improved in his game and safe in the knowledge he should be a better player than when he left, which if we are honest is a pretty good player.

Yep, same here - I thought: "pacific" as soon as I read the thread title.

Cant blame Mcguie, he has had his side depleted to fit in Sam B and has come back without a pre season and looks it.

Hope we can lure him back for next year to replace SW.
Can't wait to see JB next year, top class winger.

| Bringing Sam back has cost the Rabbits a season. He has lost power and just generally looks shot from playing for over two years non-stop without an off season and RU trying to turn him into a centre.
As for Joe, like Hardaker and Eden he just looks physically weak in comparison to his opponents. Both also show poor technique near their own line bringing the ball out, allowing themselves to be pushed back rather than hitting the deck. If he were to stay in the NRL he'd need to bulk up considerably. On the plus size apart from the fact the try wasn't awarded it was a superb finish. He'll come back to SL and be a star.

| The Aussie commentators are ultra critical of Rabbitohs this season because of their poor performance in the league and anyone with the name Burgess is attracting more than a little flak.

Wolves FC/Wigan RL: |
|
| Watching him in the last few games, I think he's developed a habit of trying too hard in an attempt to prove himself and ended up making more errors as a result. It hasn't helped him playing in two poor sides either.
With the Wigan hat on, I'm delighted he's coming back next year, but at the same time, from a general English RL perspective, a little disappointed he's not staying out there to prove himself. In the right team I think he could make a success of it and develop himself more than he will coming back here.

True. It may take him a while to build it back up but I'm sure it'll come. He'll get enough space in superleague to allow him to breath.
He could do with coming in to a Wigan team playing with more confidence and attacking intent then the current one though.

| Starting to find his feet, 3 tries last week and a good game tonight. I think Wigan are going to get the benefit of a bigger, stronger and more complete player next season.

27588.gif "Games as big as a grand finals define individuals and clubs. Remember we are only renting these shirts, I had my time in Pat Richards shirt. Ellery and Faz had there time in Sean's, Hampo and Radders in Sam's. You have to make a mark in these shirts that's still there the day you hand it over to someone else. So be aware for 80 minutes you are not only playing but also writing history and creating a legacy. How many people get to actually write history, not many. A big stage demands big players, be inspired. You play for Wigan, now go do it. Good luck." - Martin Offiah, 2010.:27588.gif |

| I think people need to put things into perspective. The lad is only 21 and has a couple of years experience at first grade.
Add the fact he's been left out at the Roosters for most of the season into the mix and think people should cut him some slack.
Being back in familiar surroundings at Wigan next season with shelter from Aussie press will undoubtedly help him get his confidence back
