| We have paid Thornleys wages for 2 injury hit years, the least we should do is see how he goes for 6 months. He knows he is out of form and he knows he will have to earn his place plus the extra competition for sarge and gells is only a good thing.
If it is a cash issue I don't think he would be on a massive amount in the grand scheme of things. Perhaps a pay cut until he proves his fitness? Then it will be up to him, does he stay with the club who helped him through 2 difficult years and pay them back by taking a temporary paycut (if needed) or does he jump ship for better cash and an easier route to starting 13?

I'm not down on Thornley just for the sake of it, but that final is about the only performance of his I can remember. All the rest of his Wigan appearances just blend into a kind of unchanging, uninspired anonymity. That said, I won't pretend he wasn't very useful indeed at Wembley.

Thornley I think disappoints because of his sheer size people expect a much more physical approach.
He does seem at times to be short of self confidence not sure if this is just how his personality transfers on to the pitch. He does seem sound defensively.
On the assumption that he has no long lasting issues with his injuries I would look to keep him going forward assuming that Sarginson is off to the rugger buggers and if it's a choice between Tomkins and Thornley at centre then it's a no brainer for me.

Will you just feck off, seriously.
It's not his fault he's been prone to injuries is it? He was a very good , reminded me of Carmont. Didn't do anything silly and just went about business as usual.
Good luck to Iain in the future.

Why?, can you not handle the fact people have different opinions than you, as stated elsewhere by other fans he was very ordinary, i'm guessing that he gets away with it being a Wigan lad as do others

Anyone who can perform to the best of their abilities on the biggest stage probably is good. Thornley wasn't as good as Carmont or Sarginson, but his form at the end of 2013 suggested a decent player. He was unlucky with injuries. It happens. There's really no need to be so negative about a lad who served Wigan well.
