| Anyone there on Friday night who clapped the team after that "performance" have incredibly low expectations of a professional sports team.
2nd best in all departments and facets of the game with some of the usual suspects unable to keep their discipline or stop their brain farts. Pub team stuff.

I clapped them for putting their bodies on the line for our entertainment. Particularly as they have short careers and aren't paid very well compared with football or rugby union. They were also taking dogs abuse from some of our 'fans' to be honest. I'm a Wigan supporter whether we are winning a final against Saints or getting tonked in the league by Castleford

However, a number of electrons were mildly inconvenienced.

P.S sorry for the rant but that was the first time in 30 years i have been threatened by my fellow supporters unfortunately its the 1% rearing there ugly head again.'"
Mate, I'm really sorry to hear that, as there's no excuse for ever threatening fans (ours or others).
That type of "fan" can absolutely bugger off - Although not to football, as than I might have to put up with them on my occasional visit to Anfield.
I do agree with Wigg'n though, as these type of morons are best left to the stewards, due to their inability to do anything individually - You're more than likely to end up with all of their drunk little friends joining in. (Although if you do manage to collar them, just do it quietly, leave no marks and try to stop when they cry for their Mum).

There used to be a different emoticon which more accurately reflects my thoughts but it appears they have got rid of it. You seem to love having a go at the club (do you ever even post after we win?). Why not pull on a shirt, declare yourself both coach and captain and show them all how it's done? The lads need a fearless leader and I for one would be happy to see you show us what spine looks like on Friday against Hull FC

I clapped them for the same reason.
Expecting a win shows the mixture of entitlement and arrogance that annoys lots of fans of other clubs and giver Wigan fans a bad name. I'll never forget being in the second division - a salutary reminder of the ups and downs of fate. Take the defeat on the chin - it's a part of sport.
Saints were beaten by the same scoreline on three or four occasions last year and ended up the season as Champions, so lets not get ahead of ourselves here. Yes there are problems, and it would appear lots of them, but there is never an excuse for booing your own team.

Never [iexpect [/ia win & it is [ionly [/ia game (ducks for cover), but we have a right to let them know when they don't come up to muster surely? How else are we supposed to do so, get the green ink out & write to the chairman of the board?

I know what you mean. But one of the great things about our game is that the players usually don't give in. I've seen teams 70 points down and still tackling as if their lives depended on it. The loss at Cas was unusual because under Madge and Waney we haven't had that sort of scoreline against us at all really. SW described it as his worst game as a coach and I believe him. However I don't think we threw the towel in at all. We were just poor.
So I would still argue that the players know without being told by the fans that it wasn't good enough. I was frustrated throughout the game, but I kept quiet and clapped them off at the end. I respected Faz and the others for coming over to us - it must have been hard.

The only game I can think of during Maguire/Wane era that compares to Friday was against Catalans at home in 2011. We'd been poor in the weeks leading up that game and then put in a pretty shambolic performance (not as bad as this week). We bounced back pretty well after that and went on a good run of form. Hopefully history repeats itself, starting this week against Hull.

There was also the game at Bradford when we led 20 - 0 and finished up losing 22 - 20. I suppose that was more like the Widnes and HKR games in reality.

Exactly. You'll be there or thereabouts at the end of the season don't worry.

No one is annoyed at the loss its the way the team played or the lack of enthusiasm. No one expects to win every game but we expect the team to give 100% every game as its what they are paid for. Friday night showed they didnt give 100% or even close if im honest.
Clapping them for not gving there all or playing to their full, potential isnt in me as I travelled a long way and paid money on the night not just for the ticket and lets be honest we all did so the least they could do is give their all. The fact they didnt shows a massive disrespect to the club and the fans.
