Long Live The Pearl !!!!: |
|
| Shows his true intelligence in the first 2 questions. Says he never played any sport all the way through just league! Then after saying that he says he played for at pats and orrell rugby union! Also he isn't a patch on Maguire. Wane wouldn't have been half as successful had he not followed on from Maguire! Maguire has changed the whole way super league teams play today and also the intensity that Wigan play at!

| Quote: The Yellow Giraffe "Wane does border on disrespectful at times though. He allows his hatred for Saints to cloud his judgement and he comes across quite petty. Take this interview for example - listing Leeds, Salford and Warrington as rivals for next year but not mentioning the Champions just comes across as silly. Also his insistence on referring to Saints as "them" or "that lot" during interviews; it's unprofessional and quite childish of him.'"
Maybe he views being called "The Ape" by the Saints fans in the same way and gives back what he can, after all it is childish of the fans.
I thought the need for Flower to have "rehabilitation" as out of order from McManus, a prop forward throws a couple of punches in retaliation and it's a rehabilitation job?

Let's not derail the thread and bring up the Flower incident. For what it's worth I think both Lenagan and McManus handled the situation really well.
Back on point, I agree fans calling Wane "The Ape" is childish; however fans aren't expected to be professional, coaches are.

| Quote: MattyB "SW was publically fuming last season when Wire 'trained as Wigan' against the Roosters in a pre WCC training session. I hope that whilst Souths are training at Orrell we dont do similar 'playing the Saints way'...etc. No need to lower ourselves to Wire's standards.'"
That was a ridiculous reaction from Wane at the time. I doubt you'll hear any such childish nonsense coming out of Saints irrespective of how souths choose to prepare for the game.

Why was it hypocritical of SW?

Do you see/hear his reaction to Warrington "helping" Syndey Roosters earlier this year?

The reaction at the time wasn't. Planning to train with the Rabbitohs is.

It would be slightly odd for Michael Maguire to come over for the WCC and not use Wigan's training facilities wouldn't' it? He and SW are very close friends too. Why wouldn't you help a friend out.

But surely the same could be said for Tony Smith helping out his close friend Trent Robinson and nephew Keegan who are both part of the Roosters set-up?
I agree it would be odd for Wane not to give Maguire a helping hand, but surely you can see that he is a hypocrite for doing so AFTER criticising Tony Smith for doing the exact same thing.

Yes I know Robinson worked with Smith's brother, but it isn't the same. Warrington were over in Sydney for heaven's sake, not hosting the Roosters but actively helping them out.

Warrington have gone on pre-season tours to Australia before and trained with Sydney Roosters in previous years. What they did in 2014 was no different to other pre-season trips. Have South Sydney trained with Wigan before?
I'm surprised at you to be honest because you're normally very level-headed and fair. It's quite clear that Wane slagged Smith off for doing something that he is now planning on doing himself. That's hypocrisy personified.

Ah well, as they say love is blind. You've found my blind spot. I don't mind criticism of SW, but I hate the name-calling.
