| I heard something before the WCC game about why he hadn't played against Hudds or on pre-season games, and have heard something similar SINCE the WCC.

23997_1287161421.jpg
Great game of rugby league. Fantastic atmosphere, Wigan were breathtaking and dominant in all areas for the first 25 minutes, coupled with us making alot of dumb mistakes, then fortunately they brought McIlorum on which helped us back into the game. I thought some of the tries we scored to get us within two we're out of this world stuff. Towards the end we had to force it a little and we had a few things go wrong, i.e Monas kick on the first for King and Solomona going off who was causing havoc. Wigan were clinical in their eventual execution of us. Proud of Wire today and gave us a little glimpse to the future. Silverwood was awful as per, but I expect no less. Tomkins is a world class player and by far the best english player in SL. Wigan are a champion side and would be a worthy winner of taking our title as challenge cup. Good luck over the next month and a bit.
:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_23997.jpg |

Well, I'm not going to just post it on here in case there's no truth in it but it's allegedly a 'disciplinary' issue. I hope not though...

| I actually thought in the WCC charley was one who was giving 110% in his usual style. His defence is/ was suspect at times, so I doubt he was dropped for that. I think it may be the case that he's been touting for a move. A shame really that a player is attempting to engineer a move (if he is) when the club have given him so much.

| The last time Wane gave him a public kick up the backside was after Ryan Hall outplayed him in a Leeds game and his form after that went through the roof. Let's hope this has the same effect.
If it doesn't though I don't think we need to worry about our options because both Manfredi and Burgess look first team ready. The way Burgess scored that try yesterday was top class and there's not too many wingers in superleague that would have finished it.

| Think burgess is ready but not sure manfredi is yet. Looks like he hasn't quite got the fitness levels yet. Outpaced by Matty smith on a kick chase and Liam Farrell on chasing back for a tackle. I would guess when fresh he is faster than both so him being outpaced on those occasions suggested to me he was a bit leggy and struggling with the pace. Bear in mind that's against Wakefield too so not one of our tougher games. Think it's a case of ease him in gently and manage him well. Clearly got bags of potential.

Without a shadow of a doubt Charnley missed the pre season and Hudds games due to having an hernia opp.
If something has happened after that then fair play but he's 100% definitely had a hernia opp.

| That's definitely true as my daughter showed me a picture that Josh had tweeted of him in hospital. He was decently attired too!

| Don't have a problem with Wane dropping the player if he thinks it justified. Exercising such judgment is what he is paid to do.
We can debate if we think his form justified it or not (it is what this place is for) but it is Wane's call.
What I don't agree with is the public airing of this by SW. I don't care if Charnley played a blinder after being outplayed by Hall I don't think public criticism of anyone ever does any good. I think SW still needs to learn to when to not give the press TMI.

I'd love to go back to the Madge days of keeping things in house. He didn't give an inch to the media.

For sale full Saints kit (circa 1989). Shirts in pristine condition, but shorts badly soiled.

For 75 - 0 you get sod all.
Wigan had eight in a row
Saints have five in a row:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_3076.jpg |

Agree, I believe he was asked a direct question re Charnley. Wane should just have "played a straight bat" and said "I wanted to give other players a chance."
I'm sure Charnley will know why he didn't play, as will the rest.

| This is a lot like banana dropping the non tea totallers before the world cup. Have this generation of coaches not been taught about the benefits of in house discipline?

| I do not know the ins and outs about this so called dropping of Charnley, but what I have picked up on is the reference about his feeble attempt on a tackle on Jennings in the 3rd min of the Roosters match.
What I cant understand is that nobody has mentioned the part Smith played after the Charnley miss, when I watched the match live (TV) the other week I was amazed to see Smith try and impersonate a Spanish Bullfighter when Jennings went past him. He almost seemed to move out of the way to let Jennings through, the only way you can see this proper is to watch the full version (3rd min) were the replays are shown head on from the try line.

Think I remember Goulding going for an intercept.
Charnley's tackle was a shocker though, not putting your body on the line at that stage of the game is embarrassing. Apart from that I don't remember much else he did wrong though to be fair.
Bowen, Dudson, Smith and Hughes had the worst games for me.
