| A quick message on behalf of James Roby's Testimonial committee
Thanks to all those who have currently purchased their tickets for this Fridays game. There are still tickets available from Wigan (they were sent 1,500 and as of Monday around 800 had been sold). If you can't get hold of a ticket before friday, you can pay on the gate with prices for adults/juniors for the East Stand at £10/£5 or North Stand seats for £12/£8. Testimonial Programmes will also be available priced at £5 and can be bought from inside the East Stand Concourse.
Cheers
Dave

I saw an interview with Clubb where he mentions McIlorum hadn't started training yet. That together with this suggests he might have some kind of niggle.

| Well done Wigan on a great win!!
Sounded a great game tonight, just what we needed in time for next week.
Yet again the young lads do us proud again, Budgie for Richards it would seem!!!

It was a decent game. Pettybourne, Sarginson and Smith were very impressive for you. Pettybourne is an absolute wrecking ball and put some big hits in on defence. Doesn't look like he'll play big minutes though. Sarginson stepping off his left foot looks very dangerous.
As for the young lads comment, I think both sides had similar 1st team players missing and both had a few kids out there.
Bowen was quiet but far too early to judge. Hampshire needs to work on defending high balls but in attack he is class.

Haha. Wigan were more clinical than us and deserved the win. Encouraging things for both teams to take away from the game I'd say.
For Wigan fans, Sarginson and Pettybourne definitely most pleasing aspect from tonight.

9356.jpg I am not biased; I'm not bothered who beats St. Helens.:9356.jpg |

| I thought that was a decent game tonight. I've not seen a friendly where both teams ( and fans) were so desperate to win for a long time. First half was good. Ok both teams bombed the odd chance and dropped a few balls but it is pre season after all.
Second half and Saints had quite a lot of ball and pressure but couldn't open us up whereas we broke out and took our chances and made them pay. The last try probably made the scoreline a bit flattering to us but, hey, who cares.
As I said Saints had a lot of pressure. Maybe if Luke Walsh settles in they might be dangerous and a force to be reckoned with but I was impressed with how Wigan reacted in the second half especially when we were without Matty Smith and Locky and co.

Was it Smith who scored from the chip over the top? That was a great try. I can see you trying that at quite often with Hampshire/Bowen.

| I've just watched the tries on Wigan t.v.
Saints second try by Roby would never have been allowed with a video ref.
1) Lomax is in front of the kicker (Walsh) and inside the 10 when the Wigan player (Burgess) drops the ball.
2) It was Roby who passed the ball to the kicker (Walsh) so was offside when the kick was made.

Did you notice the knock on in the build up to your last try?

The build up wasn't shown, may see it when the full game is on. Swifts second try also looks 50:50 but you'd need another angle. Itf it was a try then it's a superb pick up from a poor pass.
Roby's was a definite no try though.

| Thought their pack looked awful tonight if they play like that this year they will struggle.
We looked strong tonight in the forwards, best have seen in a long time and that was a friendly!
Just my thoughts!

That was right in front of me. There was no knock on he caught it. Brilliant piece of skill
