yeah because that's what happened when we had Applicado on board! Are there any worse fans than ours for moaning about nothing?

| Spot on Grimmy. What more can we ask for as fans of Wigan? Some people are habitual whingers. It's quite clear that whoever we get a sponsor, it will be because people in a better position than us to know, have deemed it to be the best deal for the club. We don't know the figures or details of the deal. It could be incredibly lucrative for all we know. What we do know is this club has delivered since Lenagan took charge, so I for one am happy to let him run the club how he sees fit. And if a sponsorship deal does include commitment to local community then that's great as far as I'm concerned. Because that helps to secure our future talent.
What next? Our trophies aren't shiny enough?!

They would but we're very fussy! Its hard nowadays to find a home with a massive trophy room!
Plenty of space at an address over St Helens way called Langtree Park I believe but it's too far out of Wigan and looks a bit tinny for our liking.
We'll have to stick to renting and winning...tough life

For sale full Saints kit (circa 1989). Shirts in pristine condition, but shorts badly soiled.
For 27 - 0 you get a trophy
For 75 - 0 you get sod all.
Wigan had eight in a row

How very dare you !
Big Bobs beans are top drawer, and Dereks chippy is the finest in Lancashire.

Maybe a back up halfback, someone with a bit of experience on a short term deal.
Big tall strong running second rower, like a McMeekin or Sironen type back rower.:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_20333.gif |

Not really a moan, that's just your interpretation. I'm just saying I'd prefer a bigger sponsor if I'm honest, with a larger company maybe we would gain publicity on the back of them rather than accept a few extra quid for Brians Barbers or Sun Shack.
I'm sure paddypower would have sponsored us and advertised us to a larger market by marketing the odds of our game either on TV or to a wide audience on the Internet.

| The rugby fan in me says who gives a sh*t who the sponsor is as what happens on the field is the main thing. The fan that supports the whole club and game in me says this isn't really good enough tbh. A club of our stature should be having big companies falling over themselves but it isn't happening for whatever reason.
I'll soon get over it when the wins start to roll in though.

There's something else. Our far superior ground is owned by a born and bred Wigan man and not by the banks.

Why? Because they need more national exposure? Or because they are going to put sponsors of Wigan RL on their products? Or because they have a nice looking logo?
Some people talk crap. A local company gaining national exposure and probs paying more money sounds like a better deal to me.

| It's ironic that Ian leneghan forms a posse to attempt to over throw the RL because he doesn't feel the game is being marketed properly and lacks decent sponsorship! If he can't get a "major" sponsor in at Wigan he ain't gonna do much better at red hall. I stick by my earlier point in that it's an opportunity lost . Can't wait for the 2015 Ronnie prescotts fruit & veg stall super league season

Warrington led 16-2 in Saturday's Grand Final, but their joy was short-lived as Wigan roared back to win the Super League title and extend the Wire's 58-year wait to be champions:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_10174.png |

| It's true to say that the Stobart deal has harmed the sport when it comes to credibility and revenue in. Super League 2013 suffered and we received no main sponsorship company, neither did the 2013 World Cup. The RFL are complete joke and must be seen as a laughing stock from outsiders looking in.
For Wigan to have tied this deal up, of course its better than NO Sponsorship, but as yet we don't know the £££ involved. Doing it cheap and local last season probably cost us a fair whack in lost revenue when Applicado went belly up mid season. So we are taking a risk again!
I just feel that Wigan (as Double Winners and the most successful and well known club in world rugby) have missed a big opportunity to grab blue chip corporation sponsorship and thats a shame for the sports credibility.
Rumours are that Wire have tied up with Emirates? If so, then we can't we attract similar? As Uncle Maurice once famously stated "They're a cracking little club, but they're not Wigan".
Lets remember that!

This is exactly the kind of post that seriously makes me wonder if we are followed by a true army of fans, or if there aren't quite a few trolls in there masquerading as Wigan fans.
No doubt we'll get the standard kneejerk response to this: "So true fans can't complain?"
Sure. But this isn't about the complaint.
People are perfectly entitled to question the club's financial dealings, though I'd argue it'd be a fool's errand as no one bar the club's inner sanctum know what is actually happening, and frankly only a pillock would argue that Wigan aren't being run pretty well in money terms. But the tone of this post is an absolute joke: scornful, mocking, sneering, arrogant tosh.
A few days ago, I joined a thread on here in which folk were laughing and wondering at which stage next season we'd see the usual suspects feel safe enough to start with their prophecies of doom. I doubt any of us expected it to happen before the team had even kicked a ball in anger, but hey-ho, here we go again. They're back.
