| If we had a more experienced 9 than Logan then I think McIlorum at 13 in the present situation is a good idea. Unfortunately, I don't think Logan would be up to 80 minutes vs Huddersfield.
But I do think McIlorum in at 13 is something which would be good as his defence is strong, and his passing game would be the closest to Lockers' without sacrificing the strong defence.

| Quote: Arthur Warrior "Not really weird, we need some spark in attack and we have the best player in super league stood around at the back waiting for things to happen in front of him. Move Sam forward and give him licence to create havoc. We've tried almost everything else. Tell Sam to go strutt his stuff.'"
Not meaning to have a go, like I said I've posted some very experiment suggested lineups on these threads. I'm not convinced of the wisdom of sticking our smallest player in the position where you have to do the most tackling though, presumably for 80 minutes as well. On top of that he would be expected to find the energy to be our gamebreaker in attack. Then the forwards (wbo are already generally struggling for hard yards against top teams) would have more work to do metreswise. If I was Paul Anderson I'd tell the forwards to run all over Tomkins at every opportunity. Then on 5th get Brough boot it as high as he can then everyone clatter Hampshire when it comes down
I'd atick with Flower and tell the whole pack they're gonna need to set up a better platform. If the forwards can get us so momentum and field position Sam won't look so impotent. Then bring Rocky on and tell him and Sam to swap between 6 and 1 as they see fit, keep Huddersfield guessing, and someone get on A.Powell's shoulder ready for the offload! I think Gelling would be handy to have in this one too. Tell him to take some weight off the forwards shoulders like usual but keep a real tight grip on that ball when he does!

| I can't see any major surprises (Grimmy I've nicked your post to save typing!)
FB 1 Sam
RW 2 Charnley
RC 3 Goulding
LC 22 Thornley
LW 5 Richards
SO 6 Green
SH 7 Smith
P 26 Crosby
H 9 McIlorum
P 10 Mossop
SR 11 Hansen
SR 12 Farrell
LF 15 Flower
S 16 Tuson
S 21 Taylor
S 32 Tomkins
S 38 A.Powell
Personally I would change Green for Powell/Hampshire, and have the other one on the bench in place of Tomkins.

That's the side I expect tbh just not what I'd pick.

He's not a fullback, he's a stand-off playing at full back. The good teams mark him out of the game playing full back so currently we aren't utilising our greatest asset. He needs to be moved back to his natural position and if that means Green being moved to 13 or being dropped then so be it.

| Hampshire at 1 and Tomkins at 6 would certainly make a statement. I'd be happy with that but we'd have to drop Green rather then moving him to 13. We'd get mullered in the forwards against the best teams if we played Green at 13.

we could play Green off the bench instead of Logan. When MM comes off, put Smith to 9.

Play a fullback at stand off and a stand off at fullback? Isn't that just making changes for the sake of making changes? What's wrong with playing a fullback at fullback and a stand off at stand off?

Could be an option but then we'd be shuffling the side around quite a bit.
I'd have thought we'd see more of Sam Powell at 9 considering Tomkins hasn't ripped up any trees.

To be honest I'd probably agree with yourself and just put Hampshire in to the halves but I was just responding to that suggestion. I wouldn't be against either but Hampshire certainly looks more of a halfback. I wasn't at the game but I believe he had a corker against Hull and wasn't he at 6?

We're already playing a stand off at full back

| Will be the same team as against Leeds apart from Andy Powell making way for Dudson. Wane should have experimented last week and at the last 15 minutes of each half should have bought Sam Tomkins to 6 to run at tiring defenses.
Something Harris did for Leeds Rhinos. We play like a side full of Autism every thing we do is the same as the week before and before that in the League. We seem void if ideas and try scoring is now difficult against good sides.

He's equally as capable in both positions, but he's our first choice fullback and has played his best rugby there. He's certainly more of a fullback than Hampshire is.

| Can't believe no one has put Taylor starting instead of Flower.
Also can't believe Burke isn't in at loose forward.
