It seems you're damned if you do and damned if you don't.
Drummers too load and annoying...
Singing is monotonous...
Flags are obstructing my view...
Attracting wrong sort of image...
'Brigantes', 'Ultras'... Think they're better fans than the rest of us...
I can't sit were I want to because the Brigantes are there...
Result, Brigantes disband.
Now we're moaning about the atmosphere again. We've come full circle.'"
I know you know BUT
None of the reasons above IMO are the reason it came to an end.
I've let my views be known on numerous occasions "In House" but not prepared to go over them on here because it will only lead to arguments from both sides of the fence
I will add that the "Original Flags" will still be erected as & when I can (With help from a couple of the other originals) although this is getting harder to do due to work commitments for a couple of people changing.
Ive been asked by the club to discuss some ideas this week but my concern is that anything started again will be assosciated with some of the problems that happened earlier in the year (And a couple before that) and I for one will not let my name or those of others be assosciated with what went on & I can't see how the 2 can ever be seperated again.
Most of the issues you mention were being dealt with satisfactorilly apart from the "Wrong type of image" one and ultimately that is what led to the main reason it ended IMO.
A few of the originals have discussed this numerous times when we have had our get togethers for a few pints and a rugby chat (Yes we still have them) and ultimately it's this difference of opinion on what Path things should take that led to the end of things (Again IMO).

| The Brigantes started off as a good idea. A section of fans sat together trying to get atmosphere going in a ground that has lacked it - nobody should have an issue with that. The problem is that what should have been a positive thing that brought fans together quickly descended into being a group of 19 year old Danny Dyer wannabees giving it large, covering their faces and setting off smoke bombs, who constantly complained on here that nobody liked them.
That said, I would like it if something similar was brought back. I just struggle to see how it could be policed to prevent it turning into the gawp-fest it became last time
To summarise
Pros:
More vocal atmosphere
Some good new songs - just can't get enough, cherry and white it's in our blood
Flags on the gantry
Cons:
Noticable increase in fights/arguing amongst fans
The Huddersfield nonsense
Some crap songs - up up and away, can't think of others
Fans going for the "ultra" look with scarves etc covering faces
Just a daft amount of flags. Did everyone sat in S1 really need to bring their own?

If you don't bother to go to the game when you live in the locality then you are not really a fan and therefore your views are invalid. It's simple.:icons39ad_files/4821-1859san_c-msnicons.jpg |

| The flags will probably continue, but i know first hand that the group that was creating the atmosphere and producing in stand displays still go to games but have completely gone there seperate ways, it will never return, along with atmosphere at home games. Many reasons why it happened, not just huddersfield, a lot that probably most on here will never know about.

I would hazard a guess that when people (fans) were asked to come to the meetings and give their input and/or constructive criticism the majority couldn't be bothered but prefered to be keyboard warriors and criticize without understanding what was hoping to be achieved and the problems incurred.

Thats 1 of them
And just to show this is not some kind of Clique Love in - myself & 21-12 have had many different disagreements on the whole subject (And others have on both sides of the argument not just me & him) and have different view points on the subject.
What went wrong at Hudds & other incidents was absolutely NOT done by any of the guys who've attended meetings and spent countless hours fund raising etc. irrespective of which side of the argument they now sit on.
However as I said earlier
"I've let my views be known on numerous occasions "In House" but not prepared to go over them on here because it will only lead to arguments from both sides of the fence"
It's not something that can be resolved on here and IMO any major discussion over the subject would end up causing a storm in a tea cup and give an unfair view of the whole issue.
My POV is that it would be almost impossible to resurrect in any form similar to how it started 4 years or so ago because the Link with what went wrong at the end will never be able to be broken and people with agendas will always use that Link to create difficulties with anything tried moving forward.

Because the reasons are quite personal to the people involved. That ok with you? Many people think that the hudds incident finished it, it didnt, quite a few had already dropped out at the end of last season, myself included, for other reasons.

| The poor atmosphere at home games imo is down to 2 factors which I've mentioned several times:
Too many people who are ready to stick the boot in when players miss tackles or lose possessiom as opposed to backing the team.
Too many dull games in which people lose interest.
Away atmospheres are usuallyy spot on win or lose because of the type of person who attends.

Warrington led 16-2 in Saturday's Grand Final, but their joy was short-lived as Wigan roared back to win the Super League title and extend the Wire's 58-year wait to be champions:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_10174.png |

| I think most fans would acknowledge the hard work that was put in to get the concept off the ground. Leading up to the end of 2011 was the best atmospheres I can remember at Wigan games, everyone bought into it. Then there was a noticeable change in 2012. So sad.
I don't think it's a discussion that will be easily forgotten and will continue to be brought up. Until things improve people will always ask the question - where did it go wrong?
There's definitely a desire to do 'something' otherwise these threads wouldn't exist. There doesn't need to be a group name, a 'brand', stickers, scarves, etc. There needs to be a dozen or so fans organised together and singing WIGAN songs. That's the (re)starting point.
