| I remember our coach breaking down soon after coming off the car park at wembley. Everybody piled in a chippie were there was lots of Hull fans. They were fantastic in defeat offering us all a chip. Fantastic final.

| 1. Henderson going the length of the pitch, and Garry Kemble chinning his heel, that must have hurt.
2. Gizmo dropping Lee crooks in full flight on his own try line, best tackle I have seen.
3. Ronnie Campbell, we think refs are bad now!
4. Brett's tash
5. The shoulder pads!
Classic final, even the BBC realised it, so much so they showed it again at christmas

| Having my picture with a Wigan fan in the Wembley car park. We both had the same banner word for word and the same picture except mine was a picture of Sterling with "Sterlo the Wizard of Oz" and Sterling dressed in a wizards costume with a wand and the Wigan lad had the same but Brett Kenny as his "wizard". I am gonna try and dig the pic out before the final and post it so be warned if it was any of you!
I also remember being scared stiff of heights and was in D upper. I think people thought it a bit strange to see a 9 year old fighting back tears at abide with me but I was really just terrified of being that high up

You are probably best trying to get hold of the game (Amazon have the full match on DVD for less than a tenner).
It is regarded by many as the greatest Cup final ever as Hull fought back from 22-8 down to almost snatch it. Also some great players from the UK and Down Under were on display such as Sterling, Crooks, Leuluai, Norton, Kenny, Ferguson, West. The other noteworthy thing about the game was the attendance - a shade under 100,000.
It was something of a "changing of the guard" too as Hull's golden era of the early 80s began to fade just as Wigan's dominance of the game began.

Cheers
To be honest when I read people saying "hope it's not hull as all they'll go on about is 85" I thought they'd put one on us

| I have only one memory of that final and that is of not going. It was meant to be my first game of rugby league and we had tickets bought for us, they were posted down to us but they never arrived. I had to wait another three years to go to Wembley again.
However there was one good thing that came of it, as a kind of compensation we were given a guided tour of central park by Graeme West and have a photo in the trophy room of me and my brother holding the Challenge cup. The biggest memory as a 9 year old I have is how big Westy was.
This year will be a homage to not going then, hope the tickets arrive this time.

2 As a result having a wonderfull view but being unable to move for 4 hours
3 Getting one of the first trains back to Wigan for one of the best nights out ever.
4 Gillys smile
5 Bret Kenny going through that gap
Best match ever

I remember a few weeks after the final, Keith Mills had the trophy at his house for some reason.
When news got out he had loads of kids from Whelley & New Springs in his back garden having their picture taken with it (me included obviously).
Anyone know where Mark Bitcon lives on the off chance (if we win) the same happens this year?

| Well my 1st Wembley was also against Hull but in 1959 and thou we won easily what a great day it was,Billy B scored a great try so did Brian McTigue Dave Bolton put some lovely kicks thru we had a great team back then and "Wigan's Past" on twitter put a short video of the tries,I also learned the words of Old Faithful from the Hull fans ....well it's what you did then, we also met people from Hull on the 1992 Lions tour to Aus (Peter Banners) and still see them to this day so it will be a great day at Wembley for us this year .

| Memory I most treasure wasn't from the game itself but the run up to it. A couple of days before the final, we had a darts/dominoes match in the Latham. Just about everyone in the pub was going to the final and around 10.30ish the tele showed the players departing from Central Park. Almost spontaneously, the pub erupted in cheers and Ere' we go, Ere we go, Ere' we go, followed by Wiiiiiiigan Wiiiiigan. Went on for a good half hour.
Still brings a lump to my throat to this day.
