As much as i would really like to be happy for them, there is a large proportion of their fanbase that i cannot tolerate.

I am happy for the town (even though i am only a naturalised Wiganer) and happy for the institute of Wigan Athletic and the players, coaches and backroom staff.

I can't bring myself to extend any congratulations to many of the supporters. Mainly because i can't stand them.

My point exactly, it will be interesting to see how many of them want us to win if we get to the challenge cup final or the grand final. I see so much hatred towards Wigan Warriors, its just hilarious. I take it as a compliment to how great our team, club and history is

You obviously dont know as many as i do then. I only personally know one latics fan that doesnt have a deep bitter hatred for Wigan RL. Id say at least 75% of the wigan athletic fan base hate wigan rugby, thats how its always been. Venture into wigan tonight im willing to bet you any amount of money "theres only one team in wigan" is ringing out loud and clear in the pubs and clubs of wigan

"Now we want Wigan rugby league team to come here and lift the Challenge Cup, and then both the cups are in Wigan!"
No subtle sideswipe there then. Lets wait to see the council spending ratepayers money on posters IF we get to Wembley, nice for them to show their true colours at last, bit different from the stony silence that emits when WRLFC goes to Wembley.
I'm amazed that Whelan has not asked for tomorrows coach to Hull to pick up somewhere other than HIS ground. That man will never rest till he has destroyed WRLFC. That is MY view and I will be sticking to it, thanks.

Brilliant day for the town, Very proud and as a fan of Both clubs I couldn't be happier. After going to the Swansea game on Tuesday night I feared for the worst.

What Wigan have achieved today is one of those upsets that will go down in History and is something that has put Wigan on the map on a global scale.. Something I doubt I'll ever see again in my lifetime.

And for all the people harping on about how "they all" hate us... I see it go both way's and I couldn't be more embarrassed by the whole situation. How much more supported could both clubs be if both sides didn't have such bitter fans towards each other.

Only one town in Wigan banner? who cares? I've stayed quiet for years when the "country roads" song is played.

personally I'll never forgive Whelan what he did in the playoffs. A whole seasons work made to play on a neutral ground. You dont see Hull and Huddersfield having that issue. He screwed us over and I want nothing but failure for him. As much as I love an underdog story and its good for the town, i dont want to that man have any success. Fingers crossed in 2 weeks his joy turns to tears.

I went today. I am a Wiganer and my town has just won the FA Cup for the first time ever. I think thats incredible and its worth celebrating.

Those of you (on both sides) with chips on their shoulders should just keep their gobs shut with all this tit-for-tat negitivity.

He screwed Wigan RL over...FACT. There is no room for forgiveness. The man is a joke. Can you imagine the Latics playing an entire season and having an advantage ripped away so casually. . I for one never forget and never forgive. I hope they go down. Those that love everything about the town i can understand but I just love the Rugby League and what Whelan did was unforgiveable.

I don't know why they are changing their branding from cherry and white to blue and white. Surely if the old buses were cherry and white, they must be the towns colours. Even the two most importand sporting teams in the council area (Wigan and Leigh) play in cherry and white.

As a Salford RL and Wigan FC fan this was the first piece of major silverware I've experienced in my life time, amazing scenes. Never been so nervous in my life during that last 5 minutes.
