| pictures show 5 of them packed in a scrum, if Offiah still has any pace left then all they need to do is get the ball from scrum half to him and he has just one man to beat? Surprised they have line out, but I suppose they have to de skill it some how.

offiah got caught with an open field in front of him, not sure if he was tired or if he has lost the pace but he still has that hip swerve. robinson really doesnt look any slower than before he retired. and on the line outs they just kept skimming it over the top like they did in the cross codes game.
also they kept going back ten in stead of the five lol.
i think they will win it but the christine noble team will be very tough alot of top ex springbocks players in it.

| Joining Jack beat BARLA Bulldogs in the quarter final but lost to Xodus Steelers in the semi.
Great effort from all the players, well done to all of them and the fans who travelled out to give their support for this wonderful charity.

2553.gif I've seen them bomb a quarter final, bottle a semi final, finish as league leaders, but I've still, never, seen the Wire win the league

| When this was first announced a few people on here were expecting them to win the main event at a canter. They didn't make the final of the over 35s. Just shows how different it is as a sport. I'm sure those lads who've retired enjoyed the team spirit again though.
Well done though to the lads who went over.

joining jack biggest threat was the running and trying to keep the ball alive, and its chucked it down here today (i didn't get to see the pitch) so it was probably more union aspects which they lost the game with.

I never really knew why people thought they would necessarily win it. They were good/great players back in the day but a lot can change when a player retires. How good someone used to be as absolutely no bearing on how good they are now and even if they still have the skills it means nothing if they are not fast enough or fit enough anymore. I have played 9s with and against ex GB players and some of them were fairly awful, one to the extent that no one actually wanted him to play as the tournament went on because he was that awful. Some of them werent that old either. I have also played with ex professionals and sometimes they havent exactly been good either.
A lot of the ex players that play in these vets Union tournaments do so fairly regularly and some teams travel all over the place playing in them and if they were fitter, especially allied with their more technical nouse, there wouldnt be a great deal that the Joining Jack lads could do about it.

| turns our robinson, connolly, sculthorpe and a few others where injured and the bali legends had a few players playing for joining jack.
robinson was the best player for joining jack by far so not surprised they struggled with out him.
bill arthur report is on skysports.
turned out they raised 21,000 thousand pounds with the charity event dinner at the media one hotel. (bradley auctioned off a yellow jersey from the toure de france).

16304_1526976105.jpg [size=100:2md8k3b3][b:2md8k3b3]'Do you remember when we had that meeting in Orlando? We talked about how we were knocked out the previous year by Leeds. And at the end, I asked you one question. "Do you want to be a semi-final team? Or do you want to do something special?" You all said you wanted to win. But talking is easy – it needed you to believe. It needed you to work hard – harder than you had – and make sacrifices. You did all that. you worked for each other. You stuck together when it was tough. And because of your efforts, you sit here tonight as champions. I'm proud of you. Be proud of yourselves. You've done something special.'
