I agree with you the age of the team will start to against them now and tbh we moan about the lack of quality in the side. In the next 18 months or so Wire are going to have a massive amount of quality to change and that will push them down the table for me. Even losing Briers will be a massive loss that's without the likes of Monaghan, Hodgson, Morley etc.

| we have been saying that for the last two seasons and they have continued to win silverware and have our number. we need to spend more time worrying about our own issues next year which is a coach who has no strategy other than to wind the opposition up with stupid comments and flog the team in training. we are losing 4 world class players and replacing them with.......... Warrington are keeping world class players, near the end of their careers yes....finished no!
in the past 3 seasons it reads Wigan 2 vs Warrington 5 and bar the challenge cup win over them we have been well and truly beaten off the park and would have been tonight again had we played either leeds or Warrington.

Have to agree Gary.
It needs changing and changing quick. Who cares whether a few teams in 8th or 9th have a chance to make the playoffs. It more important that the teams who have put in the most effort all year, deserve a definate advantage of being champions. I say 1st V 2nd for the grand final.

All very true and well made points. Can't argue with any of that, but... Have you ever seen the wire win the (super) league?

I think the point is that Wigan have debuted lots of youth who can only get better and still finished top. Wire haven't brought any through (ok maybe one) and have some real key players to retire or move on in the next couple of years... or so we'd expect. Wire and Leeds are at the top of their game when it comes to big games because they've got big-game experienced players. I still think we're building to be at that stage. But you're right, they're not finished yet!
Well done to Leeds though, I really thought wire would win that one. Thought they were worthy of a title this year... but not to be.

I'm sorry but the biggest winner tonight is Rugby League.
If Warrington would have won tonight ALL credibility for the sport would have gone out of the Window.
Our sport needs more coverage and the way to achieve this is by having recognisable places/names as it's champions. Who would realistically want to watch a sport where the champion side came from Warrington? It would make the game a laughing stock.
No one outside will either know or care what position Leeds finished in.

| Never mind a team winning it from 5th making the competition a joke. The fact is for 2 seasons running the 4 teams above them have failed to beat them and have been battered every game against said 5th place team. Look at your own teams at the fact you can't win Super League against the most successful team Super League has seen!

I couldn't care less if the Champions are from a village as long as they weren't crowned from 5th place.

| I'd have preferred Warrington to have won.
Leeds have had an average season and won the league, again. Fair play to them but as has been said, it makes the sport look ridiculous.

No I'd say he's spot on.
3 challenge Cup finals and 2 SL finals in 3 seasons says to me that Leeds are better than their league table suggests.
Not their fault they play the system better than anyone else or have a savvy coach who doesn't flog his side in April.

And that's why SL is in the gutter.
You might not care but the rest of the country does. The rest of the nation has never heard of Warrington.
Warrington as champs = zero credibility
