| We will be renewing as always but I can honeslty see why people dont. Obviously financially its hard times but I fully agree that at times the ST is under valued. Don't get me wrong the offers and the marketing the club does is fantastic to bring other speccies in but that mixed with sky schedule changes and maybe not being able to attend a few games with work commitments we probably do loose out.

| I probably will for 2013. My financial circumstances are tight, but I've saved up during this last year to cover the probable expense for next year, and will continue to do so.
I pick and choose my away matches as I depend on public transport, so my easiest to get to are Salford, Hudds, Leeds, and, now, Saints.
However, the option is there to review this in the future.

| voted no. First non renewal for 25 years.
They are for pre-season games in all honestly. I may go the odd game if im not doing anything else but 20 quid is steep for a friendly game.

| Voted yes as I will be renewing.
The regular season does mean something. It may be the GF gives us the Champions but the team that finishes top of the league is the best in the league.
Leeds proved last year that being Champions means you are not necessarily the best team in the league. At that points they became two separate concepts.
Last season Wigan played some of the most breathtaking rugby I've seen in years if not decades. I do think Wane, Harris and Deacon are a good coaching team and will get the best out of the squad.
Not renewing honestly never crossed my mind!

| If less people go then the RFL will have to look at the system as they cannot afford to lose peoples cash. If people continue to get season tickets, then they will change nothing.
In the end money governs all and if crowd increases continue, why would the RFL change the system?
In a way I know that when you finish top and don't win the competition it calls into question the system. However this only really hits one team. The other 13 like the top 8 as it gives them a chance and keeps up their fans interest during the year as they are still in with a shot no matter how slim. Those just outside can think well for a few games we could have made the top 8. Basically the playoffs keep up the hopes of everyone who can't be the best team in the league, and it depresses the winners of the league as there is more down side than up for finishing top.

| I was thinking of posting a similar poll. But as I don't have a season ticket I can't renew it! I am considering purchasing one though. Is it worthwhile or not? Apart from maybe getting a couple of games for free (compared to paying on the gate at every game) is there any other benefits or am I better off attending most of the matches?

| Three of us will be renewing. The 27 rounds may just be jockeying for position and less important trophy wise than the last few weeks in the playoffs but I still support the team and always will. Leeds have finished 5th and made two GFs due to learning to exploit the system. Had we bothered to turn up during the first 40 last week Leeds' approach would have failed and we would be going to OT. No doubt some people would have then been goading Leeds fans about the league table mattering after all.
It is annoying to finish top and miss out on the GF and I do agree that the playoff system needs to change to stop teams trying to finish 5th rather than 4th due to the current format. I also think that the league format should change so that every team doesn't play every other twice. With an unequal fixture list there is actually a need to have playoffs as league positions would be insufficent as a guage for ranking teams as who you played more often and who you avoided more often affected league position. That was why we had the old Championship playoffs for 70-odd years. If the fixture lists weren't even then the table toppers may have got there by playing 10th, 11th, 12th and 13th twice while the 5th placed team had played 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 6th twice. It is what the NRL does and nobody complains when a team is NRL champions from 5th. The only problem with a playoff being more important than the qualifying competition is that in SL's case the playoffs are not necessary as there is no disparity of toughness of fixture lists to redress.

| Probably be a no for me. I picked and choose my games last year before I got a half season ticket. Wish I hadn't to be honest. I love this club but I have to admit sitting in a quiet empty DW stadium whilst playing the likes of Castleford and Wakefield..for what is effectively a meaningless game isn't that appealing to me anymore. I'll pick and choose my games and save cash for when we get to the important end of the season.
I'm becoming frustrated with the sport at the minute. From the RFL right through the referee's up to the clowns who we have to listen to on sky every weekend.

You could equally argue why would people bother to pay to watch the regular rounds. What is effectively a series of friendlies before the real 3 or 4 game competition starts in September.
Undecided.

| Playing devils advocate here, for all the people who say it is just meaningless friendlies, what would you do if our on field situation took a turn for the worse and we ended up in a similar situation we were in 8-6 years ago? Would the regulr season still be meaningless or not?

In 2006 we finished 8th which would have qualified us for the playoffs. Did we deserve a playoff spot that year? More to the point, had we got into the playoffs we would have actually stood a good chance of reaching the final as we were the form team behind St Helens and had beaten everyone above us practically except St Helens.
Not only would that have made the system an absolute joke had we even qualified, it would have made the 27 rounds prior a joke as we were crap for 2/3s of it and showed up at the end and had a chance to be crowned Champions.

| Just for thought:
Some on here have mentioned the lack of 'feeling' towards what are seen as the less glamorous weekly rounds eg Cas, Broncos, Widnes, and the poor atmosphere generated during these games ....... do you think this is where having a large all seater stadium actually works against Wigan? (and I suppose Hull and Huddersfield to a lesser extent).
There's a brilliant atmosphere when it's near full for a Saints/Wire/Leeds game, but when there's a sub 10,000, they get too spread out, and sitting down doesn't really help.
I know Saints fans lobbied against their new stad being all-seater, with the result being terraced ends .... not the side terracing some wanted (and Wire fans lobbied for and got), but at least gave somewhere where smaller crowds could still congregate to whip up a better atmosphere during the less well attended games. And, saving a few £'s is never a bad thing .... instead of paying £24 to sit alone on an empty row of seats, wouldn't it be better to pay £18 to stand together and get some singing going? I'm sure the players notice when a grounds quiet ....... and perform accordingly.
I'm not suggesting tearing out rows of seats, because it's a non-starter at most all seater grounds for football reasons, but what about (and don't fly off the handle and dismiss it out of hand - I'm not suggesting mergers or anything daft) if Wigan switched their games with Broncos, Catalan, Huddersfield etc (where away support is 'minimal' and even home support is tepid) to somewhere like LSV? 8,000 supporters in there generates a far better atmosphere than 8,000 spread out at the DW! Would this encourage people to attend these games?
