| Quote: sergeant pepper "Are we now victims of our own recent success?
Does it now get boring winning the majority of our games by a highish margin?
In the Noble era our last performance would have been considered a highlight of the season. Now people are calling it scrappy, a poor performance and boring?
Salford are a good side and made them look like Pats 3rd team. We seem to have stopped praising our ability to shut teams down.'"
This happens at all clubs that are winning every week. You get used to a certain level of flair and a good scoreline, and get a little bit spoiled.

I disagree with that last bit - Salford are not a good side by any stretch of the imagination. We won that game with a 55% completion rate (theirs was actually better), and that performance of ours would not have beaten a good side.

There's never a good time to complain is there? If you comment when losing its because you are losing and yet you are spoiled if you comment when winning. I apologise for derailing the thread but I could go on forever. We slaughtered Salford with a mixture of dropped balls and incomplete sets. That's indicative of the level of the comp. Add to that refs performances, dissatisfaction re GF winners v LLS Winners being champs, pathetic safety first unnecessary rule changes yadda yadda and you would begin to get a picture of my dissatisfaction.

On Boots n all, the stats Phil Clarke gave out for us were abysmal. Had we played anyone half decent, we'd have been whacked good and proper. As for the comp in general, the standard seems to be dropping every week.

Salford are not a good side to be honest. there are maybe 3/4 in the league who are "good".
For me its not to do with how good we are. honestly i dont think we are that good. its more of terrible most of the other teams are.
some of the games at home this year (pick my games away) have been so instantley forgetable its worrying. Its mostly due to the week to week rounds pretty much being useless as too many teams can make the playoffs. get it back to 5 and make the rounds mean something and encourage the teams to be at least competative.

| The standard of the overall competition has gone down. If Super League was supoosed to evolve into a competition where any of the teams would be capable of winning the top prize then it has failed miserably. The short sighted idea of increasing the play offs to top eight to "force" ore teams into the mix is just an embarrassment. I don't know what the answer is; maybe reduce the number of teams in the league? But at the moment there's only four teams that can offer any value. If you support one of those four teams you get three home games per seasaon that generate any level of excitement/ enthusiasm.

| The standard is poor and is only going to get worse as fewer quality overseas players come to SL.
All Wigan can do is concentrate on our youth development and try to unearth more stars like Sam to bring some excitement to an increasingly dull and low quality SL.

I have never bought a season ticket, even though i think there are plenty of benefits I dont want to commit to all the games, especially when there are non-contests.

I have a season ticket, Im not sure there are any real benefits to be honest.
The small cost saving is offset by the fact that you have to pay 4 months in advance for the best deal, plus you cant take advantage of any deals (eg The Big One) throughout the season
Fixture changes that mean you cant make the game cannot be refunded
Final tickets (should we get to any) can be bought from the RFL without queing
Not sure I will bother again

| i think us 2 will be reassessing whether we renew our season tickets, the games at home to Castleford, Salford, Wakefield and London to name a few are dire contests and lacking atmosphere not to mention games on a bloody Monday night and some of them on sky!!
The away games are great and the home games against Leeds Saints and wire
Next years season ticket sales will definately take a hit, its an expensive doo

| I get excited about 4 games these days. Next week is now practically a dead rubber as was the Leeds game. Still, can't imagine not going to games though.

| does anyone know whether the RFL are going to reintroduce the free/discounted ticket to 4th round CC matches - or any other freebies for next year (esp as some of the wc tickets are a bit steep!)?

| i feel that the clubs / RL are at one of them strange points which could make or break them
The economy is C***, so financially most people may be struggling so will pick and choose if they go to games. Cost of travelling especially to away games has shot up massively
Cost of away tickets - £20 to stand up in some Yorkshire dumps in the rain when we have a modern stadium with great facilities that costs far less for away spectators, but yet we still get no travelling fans - Salford, Hudds, Bradford, Leeds, Cas, Catalan / London i can understand, and even both Hull teams over the last couple of seasons have dropped off in their numbers from previous seasons
The play off system doesnt reward the best side all season - so why should a team try. Tony Smith at Wire has changed his side most weeks and not bothered about losing the odd game, but still expect fans to turn up every week (granted they have a fantastic home record this season to counter the arguement)
So why should fans turn up to watch sides that they know are not necessarily playing at their full potential every week or playing weakened sides so that they can try to win 4 games at the end of the season ala Leeds last year as an example or what BN tried to do with us but failed miserably
there are some good things out there - £26 for a child in the South for the season with free ticket to every away game. i certainly take my daughter to more away games on the back of it
However i will still be renewing and still travelling away most weeks (work permitting)
