Those players were signed before Pearson took over. Ellis is going at the end of the year. It won't happen overnight, next year we will be a lot stronger and then we will get better every year. That us unfair. They are totally different players. Finch is integral to this Wigan team and I would have him in this team before Barrett any day of the week. Barrett was a great individual player but for me Finch is a better team player and organiser.

Put Barrett in this team and not the pants one of 2007 and the slightly better 2008 squad and Wigan would have battered Saints today.

Finch is a top top player and I really hope we get him signed up soon. Barrett was another level though IMO

I agree, I would love to have seen Barrett play for us the last few seasons instead of him having to drag us out of the all the time!

I remember a few years ago going to Wigan, we went in front with a couple of early tries, then just before half time Trent Barrett single handedly took us to the cleaners. Quality player, without doubt we would have won that night had Barrett not been on the field
