| Quote: FIOS "I never usually comment on a refs performance but last night just seemed corrupt to me and I agree with you 100% it almost seemed like someone was told to try and make it an even playing field. I have noticed before when super league teams play championship teams that the refs are a lot more strict with the super league teams than the championship teams. I suppose it makes a better game though but it's not exactly fair.'"
Er, I was told from a referee that he was instructed from the RFL at one game to 'try and keep the score down'. Hence my rather suspicious opinions regarding refereeing...

| Quote: Robbo "I was very disappointed after watching the match on sky, and even though we won I was annoyed after having listened to 80 minutes of Brian and co. Whilst Fev where underdogs and I could see why he'd want to big it up or whatever, the bias was so blatant. Up until last night I'd enjoyed listening to Carney but I feel he went a bit to far last night. Some of the decisions where questionable at best, but we also got away with one or two things ourselves however it did come across at times that we were playing "championship rules" with the speeds at the ptb etc.'"
Agreed. I realise most of the audience are neutrals and neutrals always back the underdog, but that didn't justify the ridiculously one-sided commentary. Rod Studd was the worst offender in my book, almost soiling himself over a 40-20 that never was near the end of the game.
As usual, the Sky team came to the game with a script in mind, in this case, a giant killing scenario, which I can understand in principle - I simply think they overdid it. The problem with Hemmings' commentary is that he has only ever had one script as far as Wigan are concerned - the one where we lose.

Carney was one of my favourite players when he first came to us but his attitude when he decided that the grass was greener in Australia stunk and he couldn't get away from us quick enough and I for one have no respect for him whatsoever as a result, not that he will care how any of us feel.

[quote="Pemps":1dso5atj]I can't confirm Bennett's exact words but I believe they were along the lines of "Strewth Ian, I wouldn't touch him with yours. He's a flammin' Gala". [/quote:1dso5atj]

| Carney came out with something along the lines of "Fev have had a great few years, the had a great weekend against cas. Now hopefully the will continue that with a win today"
It was toward the last 10 mins he came out with it.

| Two things for me. Carney should be used as either presenter or pundit, don't Mix the two. Generally he is fine but his efforts to call Tommy's try a knock on was laughable!

| Quote: Wellsy13 "Is this is Ian Hardman try that went to the video referee and was actually given as a try?
'"
No, it was the other one Hardman scored, the 400-metre dash around the entire Wigan team.
Of course it was that bloody one. You know perfectly well which one it was, and you know perfectly well that whatever the little drip in the VR box says, it was nothing like a try. You also know that Carney was talking through his ar2e claiming that it was.

| I think Carney should be a pundit not a presenter, his introduction to last nights game was unbelievably wooden, it was so obvious he was reading from a script It almost felt awkward. Eddie takes a lot of stick but he is good at what he does in that sense.

| I'm sorry but I switched off from Carney's comments when he stated that one of the spectators in fancy dress sat on a roof was Buzz Aldrin as opposed to Buzz Lightyear.

| I thought the whole commentary team was poor - not just Carney. Very much trying to talk up a Featherstone win, especailly in the first half - it was so repetitive and irritating, I actually would have preferred Eddie and Stevo to be honest.

That was another bit of rubbish from Sky. It's bad enough that there are people who'd rather sit on the roofs of their own houses and watch for free than pay on the gate and support their local team, but do we really have to give them coverage?

36409_1319997811.jpg A purple patch inspired on his home ground by man of the match WIGAN CAPTAIN Sean O’Loughlin produced three tries in an eight-minute spell just before half-time, and the GB Lions added two more after the break to maintain Smith’s 100 per cent record as Great Britain
coach.

| i loved watching him for Wigan, fabulous player but thats all down the pan now, what a complete creviss licker of a man i couldny believe the tripe he was coming out with and yes he speaks like he's reading from a script... signing for Warrington made it easy for me to dislike him but after last night i have no respect for the weasel whatsoever!! He's supposed to be neutral FFS!!
Rod Studd jizzing his load over what he (nobody else did) thought was a 40/20 was embarrassing.
Again, for the life in me i can't believe that spaceman Barrie Mcdermott gets paid a living wage by sky, if he does thats incredible!! This isnt a good picture for such a great sport. Terry O'Connor's a great chap but he needs to stop hanging around with IQ Mcdermott or he'll end up a spaceman too.
Sky - Rubbish!! but weve no alternative! Gimme Eddie and Stevo any day

| Where was bill Arthur last night? He seems to be the only person on the sky team capable of a neutral view.

39110_1363272058.jpg Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot
Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good
-
sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league
-
Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate
-
the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever
-
Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go
-
Saint94..Every team is in your feckin shadow, we all know
