| I, too, was quite impressed with Gelling's game today...as others have said, took the high ball well, scored a nice try, and showed some neat footwork, and produced a lovely "back door" pass for Carmont....got a shout from the chairman in the South Stand bar before I had to leave as well!

| Quote: Grimmy "I agree that Pat has of course been brilliant for us for years, but Gelling had a better game today than Pat has all year. If Richards tore it up in the reserves upon his return or Gelling couldn't keep it going then fair enough, but I think Gelling has earned his shot, and Richards needs to recover/find form to regain his place in the team. It would also show the young lads that Wane isn't afraid to drop a big name for a form youngster'"
It would show he was a bit thick as well.
Gelling had a good game today but to suggest Richards will have to win his place back on the back of one game by Gelling v a weak side is nuts. In case you missed it Charnley's goal kicking was not very good and against Hull that is luxury Wane can't afford just to prove a point. We are not going to score shed loads of tries v them. They have one of if not the best defence in the league. Goal kicks are going to count so Richards will play and not just because of that but because it is a big game against a team going well and his experience is required.

Pat's not been right all year. If he can't perform at his best, and that includes kicking, then he needs to be rested until he's fit again IMO. Josh does OK as a back-up kicker, and I'm hoping that's something SW is working on. Gelling did well today, but one swallow doesn't make a summer.

| Gelling did very well today, hopefully will play next week, couple of weeks off for Pat, when he is fit he is "Superman" end of.
Super League is about having a strong squad with people slotting in all season, our squad is coming together nicely with more people getting game time due to injuries and suspension, it is a long season.

| Certainly worthy of another run out next week for me, possibly at centre in place of George.

Great prospect.

Got driven back over his own line on two occasions against Widnes, resulting in drop-outs. Granted he was never put under that much pressure today, but a player of his size and stature should never get pushed backwards as easily as he was. Big improvement today IMO. Looked eager and showed much more enthusiasm and desire to be involved

| could ahve had a field day had they done the old 'kick to Pats wing on the last', he had Fox well and truly in his pocket, to the point he was not contesting, merely trying to tackle when he had won the ball.
Give him a decent run and keep Pat for the business end of the season, when we will really need his kicking

For me today he showed everything that Karl Pryce (a man of similar physical potential) didn't do

| I thought he had a great game today but didn't see any fire in his belly. Maybe he needs more time but to me he looks a little lethargic. Sorry I am not normally negative!

| I actually thought his effort was very good. Much better then at Widnes and much better then our previous 'project with potential' in Pryce fared.
It's his fitness he needs to work on. He visibly tired after about 20 mins worth of hard work and again in the 2nd half but unlike previously he kept pushing himself. I was really pleased to see him chase a kick down the touchline like his life depended on it Charnley style with about 10 mins left.

He also had Finch in his ear all of the game, mind you he wasn't the only one, Finch was "encouraging" the team throughout the game.

I can only disagree with you. Thought he looked really positive, every time the ball went out over the dead ball line he rushed to retrieve it then ran back up to the 20 each time to take it it. That isn't lethargic if you ask me?
