Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot
Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good

Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate

The Wire games are special nowadays. It's obviously down to the fact that both clubs are on a high as much as anything but still they're now great fixtures.
Sadly I feel Wire have the wood on us a touch. They've beaten us consistently for a good few years although we did take out the last important one. The Wire could really do with this being their year as it's hard to see guys like Morley, Briers and Hodgson having many more cracks at it.
This game will be the first of a few biggies this year between the 2 I reckon.

again it turned into the big one for us over recent years as you have been our main competition from the local area.
just hope for a hard good game and the wolfs to pinch it.
on a side note i still laugh at that picture purely because the correct spelling is on the shirt  |

Wigan v Warrington has overtaken Wigan v Saints for me definately, the passion and rivalry is far stronger these days and that is reflected in the atmosphere, id rather lose to Saints than Warrington.

Wigan vs Saints is the biggest because of the historic rivalry.
Wigan vs Warrington is next because its the two best teams in the league imo. These games are usually close to capacity too which makes for a cracking atmosphere.

It's only a big game in the same way leeds saints was a couple of years ago.
I'd always much prefer a win over saints.

Definitely this, I'd rather us beat Saints than beat Wire. Wire and Leeds are just big games like we used to have with Bradford in the early Super League days. Saints on the other hand is and always will be "the" game. |
