If you think with a full side out we would have squandered an 18 point lead and more to the point let a side like Widnes score 37 I will have some of what you are on please. You don't go from the best defence in the league to conceding 37 against the worst attack in the league unless there is something radically different and there was - the Wigan team that took the pitch.

We did it in 2010 at home to Harlequins.

at least 3 Widnes tries came from errors by "senior" players though. Their first two tries came down a left hand side of Hock, Finch, Hughes and Charnley. With a full squad playing we may have played better but if you make errors like we did or near our try line you will concede points no matter who you play.
Its easy to just say a side like Widnes but on Sunday Widnes completed most their sets, made few errors, had a far better kicking game than us and they made us pay for our mistakes where we didnt punish theirs

| Quote: FAXE LUCAS "after watching the highlights it was more a poor performance by the team rather than the young lads
5th try - Was either an amazing pass or a very lucky one but we seemed way to condensed on the goal line they had a 2 man overlap
6th try - Really bad defence close to our goal line something we normally pride ourselves on and was Hansen who is one of our better defenders
After watching the highlight and without the emotion of being there i have actually changed my view that it wasnt the "kids" that lost us that game i think it was more attitude and effort. Going 18-0 up in the second half probably did more bad than good as we thought the game was over and to the credit of Widnes all through the game they just kept completing sets getting to kicks and defending well.'"
That 5th try was the one where Goulding was still unconscious down field and had been for the whole of the six tackles. The game should have been stopped as it was a head injury.
I'm amazed it hasn't been mentioned at all in any of the commentaries/video I have seen.
It was Hansen who clashed heads with Goulding so he was still a little dazed and should probably have been subbed but we were had no one to replace him with.
It's at times like this when you realise how crucial the likes of Mickey Mac (he went off when we were 18 points up), Hansen and Lockers are.

At the time Hansen got up and jogged back to try and defend and never looked right all way back.
I came out the game very angry with Wane but watching the tries again without emotions of being there its not as simple as the kids lost us the game. Errors cost us the game and even when Widnes made errors we either knocked on or there was the one occasion where Finch tried an impossible off load when we were on the Widnes goal line.

Sam Tomkins was a right snappy little get when he first broke into the side, wasn't he?'"
Mellor's 22 now.

Don't know where they got the 13 stone from. I weighed around 12.5 at the time and was stood next to Sam. I'd say he was a good stone lighter than me.

I'm doubting Sam weighed 11.5 stone during his pro career, that would have made him bordering on anorexic before he did any weight training for rugby!

Muscle is heavier than fat. Sam would have had more than you.

He's only 79 kgs (12 st 6 lbs) now and he's filled out since he first became pro. As for muscle and fat, he's probably 5% fat and I'm about 5% muscle, so lets hope his muscle doesn't turn to fat or he'll virtually disappear.
