| Quote: 21-12 "My post in another thread, for games like Saints away and Cup semi/final, Grand Final
For example for Good Friday it would go
Day 1
* ST holders that have recorded 10 or more away games from last season
Day 2
* ST holders with 6 or more away games from last season recorded
Day 3
*All ST holders
Day 4
*members with X amount of away games recorded, if any left.
Day 5
General Sale, if any left.
The only way loyalty would be rewarded would be if you bought tickets for aways instead of paying on the door and the TO recorded it.'"
That'd be a pretty rubbish system, why would the club reward people for going to away games?! It's hardly a good earner for the club.
Promoting better benefits for those who buy a season ticket every year is a much better option.
Or/and better still sell the membership as an extra - they get first grab at tickets - ST holders have to buy one too if they want first go = more money for the club.

| I got one just to save a few quid on the DVD and handbook and get the 15% discount that will come in handy when I do my shopping for Catalans away
Not received my card yet though even though I got the confirmation e-mail etc, but I wouldn't/don't need it for tickets anyway as I have at least 3 season tickets I can use.

Why would you reward away fans? You mean those that watch the club week in and week out no matter who and where they're playing? You mean those that spend hundreds a season watching the club? They are the people that SHOULD be rewarded.
You could for example have a fan who goes home and away that wasn't able to get to the ticket office yesterday and so now can't go to the biggest game of the season. How is that fair?

What? Dont reward fans that travel Away? Are you for real?
Its obviously not that bad of a system seeing that its the same system that 80% of premiership football clubs use.
Going from your option, you say reward Season ticket holders? Ok then, yes I agree, so what does your proposed system do about games like Saints away and Cup finals seeing as we have 10k Season ticket holders and only 3k Tickets? You have to water it down and the only way to do that is to have a system that rewards loyalty and lets people know were they stand. The only way to do this is to reward people that have been away. Its nothing to do with "earners for the club" its about rewarding loyalty and letting the people that go to most games have first dabs on tickets for the big occasions.

| one slight problem with the away fans idea, most away fans pay at the gate(no ticket stub is given) apart from the odd couple of matches. Wigan would have to put in place a system where fans had to buy from them so that their attendance is verified and recorded.
I am all for fans who attend the most league games being given the best opportunity to get a ticket for the big games when away from home as long as those who meet that requirement but live over 100 miles away are allowed to purchase online/phone and not suffer the farce of last years Challenge cup. I travelled over 5000 miles last season watching games and could not get a ticket from the club until the 3rd day of sales by which time no lower tier were left.

Correct, whats the problem with that? Scrap the "pay on the door system" all together and get a proffesional system in place.

Exactly, its a disgrace, day trippers for Cup finals that haven't attended all year should be in the last day sale scraping for tickets that are left, not stood at the window getting the best seats. Its not rocket science, reward loyalty!!!!

23997_1287161421.jpg
Great game of rugby league. Fantastic atmosphere, Wigan were breathtaking and dominant in all areas for the first 25 minutes, coupled with us making alot of dumb mistakes, then fortunately they brought McIlorum on which helped us back into the game. I thought some of the tries we scored to get us within two we're out of this world stuff. Towards the end we had to force it a little and we had a few things go wrong, i.e Monas kick on the first for King and Solomona going off who was causing havoc. Wigan were clinical in their eventual execution of us. Proud of Wire today and gave us a little glimpse to the future. Silverwood was awful as per, but I expect no less. Tomkins is a world class player and by far the best english player in SL. Wigan are a champion side and would be a worthy winner of taking our title as challenge cup. Good luck over the next month and a bit.
:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_23997.jpg |

My mate is a mad Everton fan and they used to run a system were they graded certain games and you had to have so many stub tickets from away games so the likes of Liverpool away would be the highest and comes down from that not sure how it worked he's away atm but i will ask him when he gets back

Correct. Same at Liverpool but it got updated to the ticket office recording on a computer what games you had attended because people were just using mates stumps etc

| "Reward loyalty" .....exactly....... just what the RFL have done, I have already bought discounted tickets again this year for the Grand Final after receiving an email from them last November for attending the last 10 grand finals, i have bought 2 lower tier tickets 3 rows from the front at both ends of the ground just in case we get there (live in hope and expectation).
Why doesn't the club follow suit, after all they have your record on file of all the tickets you purchase online from them

Scrap the pay on the door option and lose many fans who do so given the fact they can decide to travel on the morning of the game.
Many a week I can't decide until game day due to work commitments.

| you dont have to scrap the pay on the door system, just need some form of record that you actually attended an away game. All fans apply for and receive an away season card that has a chip then a simple card reader at all grounds that is swiped when you pay to enter at the turnstiles. the info after each game is sent to the away club telling them who attended the game.

Ok then, dont scrap it, but the people who dont buy a ticket prior to the game dont get an loyalty points recorded for that particular game.

What if, in an ideal world, the sport grew massively in the next few years and you couldn'y pay on the door due to demand, you'd be a bit screwed then wouldn't you?
