Same old Bullbiz, under pressure manager attempts to deflect criticism of his failure to beat a shockingly bad Latics side.
The state of the pitch is entirely the fault of Whelan, if he had spent what he should have done on drainage for the pitch when the ground was being built we wouldn't be talking about it now.
It's not too hard to understand, the ground is built next to a canal and a river (of sorts), and only a mile or so away from a place called MARSH GREEN.
You get what you pay for.

Very lazy journalism. It's funny how so called educated men don't realise that grass doesnt grow a whole lot in the winter (unless aided by artificial light) and that in this country it tends to rain a fair bit! Add into that, that Dave Whelan only spent eighty grand on the new pitch (pitches at wembley and the emirates cost north of a million pounds) and you can see the problem. You get what you pay for. Maybe he should be more concerned at his teams awful performances this year!

Nicholas is a tool from the top drawer, this is the same guy that in the Riverboat casino in Glasgow set fire to several £20 notes many years ago to try and pi$$ off a fellow Cel*ic fan who was questioning his ability when he played for them... complete ignorant Gland!! its widely known in Scotland that even the septic fans cant stand him!

Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot
Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good

To be fair to latics, they don't hop on the bandwagon and blame the rugby. Whelen has defended the rugby numerous times in relation to the state of the pitch. Martinez has said today that the rugby has nothing to do with Darren Bents injury.
