| Somebody asked Sam Tomkins about Faz on twitter and he said 'that's taking it a bit far' so I very much doubt it.
I'd guess we'll maybe see Deacon and Coley.

| Hampo won't be playing.
Heard a whisper Joel and Farrell may play but I doubt it considering they are in the middle of a season.

| Quote: Pemps "When we were at Central Park the testimonials were a real fun affair and weren't the 'trial' games that they seem to be now. Graeme West's testimonial had John Monie, John Dorahy, Dean Bell, Sorrenson, Vaughan West (His son), Tamati, Edwards..... Although the game lacked intensity, it was good to see all these blokes on the field again.
I'm sure it would put a few thousand on Lockers gate if Farrell, O'Connor, Furner, Lam, Wild, Brown etc were able to play.'"
IIRC there was a testamonial at Central Park (Can't remember who??) and some bloke from Latics played. Even then he was greeted with "There's only one team in Wigan".

It was either Edwards' or Dermott's. He was involved in a halftime kicking comp. Gary Schofield, Hampo, Botica, Latics player and a few others were involved. Hampo won.
I think David Grindley played 5 mins in the game too.

I had in my mind it was Edwards. In the 2nd half, they were mucking around (American Football throws, tackling the ref....etc).

| The Edwards testimonial match was played on Wednesday 12th August 1992 when he was just 25. He qualified for it by achieving 300 appearances. Wigan beat a Great Britain select XIII 37-36. David Grindley scored "a touchdown" in the last minute.
Crowd was 5,796 with the kick off having been delayed by torrential rain which probably put a few fans off.
The story on that night though was Andy Gregory not playing ahead of his imminent departure.

| I could have sworn that Edwards testimonial was a scorcher of a day with a bigger crowd than that. I also didnt think it was a Wednesday match as it was daytime. Obviously I am wrong. I remember a sprint race the length of the pitch (with some RU guy, who didnt turn up, supposedly taking part) and a kicking competition. Whose tesimonial would this have been if it wasnt Edwards?

I was there, our guys also played a football match v a corrie team and farrell murdered them. Offiah beat Eddie Maffie (something like that) and a host of others. The RU sprinter pulled out and Frano stuffed the kickers. Was about 93-94
