i know, but i will always ask those people the same thing.
would you rather buy a Ferrari and incur all the financial losses, or would you prefer someone else to buy it but you get use out of it?

Do you seriously believe that the KC Stadium doesn't even "come close" to Dave Whelan Stadium?
In mine and I'm sure the majority of people's opinion the KC Stadium is superior to the Dave Whelan Stadium.

| Come on IL, build us a new ground because it would please internet surfers and upset Latics fans. We don't think you should enjoy your own personal money which you've worked extremely hard to get, we think you should waste it on a new stadium as ours is quite clearly not good enough and it would obviously be economically better to own a stadium.

And I'm sure you're unqualified to make such a ridiculous and unprovable statement. Not that this sort of thing generally stops you.
I'd love to have seen your face the moment Dave Whelan broke this story. Talk about kakking yourself.

[quote="headhunter":lnxdgxk2]Union people are idiots. They almost universally accept that league is a better, faster game played by better athletes, yet for some reason they continue to disregard and belittle it. That game is tedious as hell from start to finish. If he'd ever played or even bothered to give more than a fleeting chance to league he would realise that the game is far more 'technical' than Union ever could be. Booting the ball into touch, scrummaging and forming rucks and mauls aren't areas that involve any skill, technique or mental capacity whatsoever. These are clumsy, outdated facets of the game that are also extremely uninteresting to watch and thus have to be defended in some way by people who are too prejudiced to see the truth.[/quote:lnxdgxk2]: |

| Better option would be to buy latics and asset strip em to get the ground?
Blackbun were sold last year for approx £75-80m and are a bigger club than latics. You'd expect that even with them in the premiership you could buy them for circa £40-£45m. Given the silly value soccer players go for you could then sell the squad for around £20m, milk the parachoote payment when they go down, run them on a shoestring next year, sell wigan rl the ground for £5m and then flog em as a mid - bottom table championship team for £5-10m.
We'd get the staduim, latics bite the dust, costs leneghan all in all next to nowt, everyones happy bar a few skem head latics fans!!
We can but dream!

Just so we are clear where you are on this one; do you think the Dave Whelan Stadium is better than the KC Stadium?
As for "kakking" myself; I haven't even read the story but if it involves Lenegan buying Wigan Athletic then I'd suggest that Lenegan has already found his level in the world of football with Oxford United. After capital gains(?) tax the amount Lenegan cleared on this deal is a drop in the ocean compared to the money in premiership football.
Just for my information this business that Lenegan has just flogged was that Lenegan's main business interest? I thought he was also involved in some westish end productions as well?

He isn't buying Latics, so stop worrying.
As for the DW and the KC, they're both about the same in my book. But whatever I thinik, you are NOT qualified to speak for everyone else. Stop pretending you're the voice of the common man when in reality you're a troll constantly on fishing trips.

| I'm happy to put up with the minor scheduling issues if it means enjoying the use of a top class stadium. I liked the Ferrari analogy; why put ourselves under financial strain for the nostalgia of having our own ground again. Let's be honest, if we hadn't moved to the dw, central park would still look exactly the same if not worse and we'd be no better off than the likes of cas or wakey imo.

Cheers, so the one he flogged was pretty much his sole current business interest.

Naw ... with a name like ours, someone would always have stepped in and bought us. That's the advantage of being one of the top clubs in the game.
