OR have to pay rent at a much higher rate that it currently stands. It's within Wigan Rugby's financial interest's for Latics to be in the Premier League.

I certainly think, and I still follow Latics albeit not on the terrace anyway, that if they go down once, they'll drop down again. Bigger clubs than them have done it like Man City, Leeds, Southampton, Charlton, Sheffield Wednesday to name a few. The club needs a fortune to keep it going at a high level and clearly the investment isn't there, or isn't possible anymore. No investor is going to come in and bank-roll them like Whelan has had been doing. I just fear for that club in the post whelan era. Time will tell though. Only an opinion.

That old propoganda. Think for yourself rather then believe everything Lenegan tells you. If IL has signed up for a deal such as that he wouldn't be a successful millionaire businessman.

So I should make a completely unfounded opinion because listening to an official statement is likely to be a fabricated lie?

Surely it'll be a fixed contract. Latics can't just change the rent when ever they feel like it.

No not a fabricated lie - but IL can hardly come out and say "we want the Latics to go down" even though it may be better for our club.

Has he actually handed the stadium over to Latics? I'm sure Whelco are the major shareholders in the stadium and both us and Latics pay rent to them.

Contracts have duration's so what happens if at the end of the contract Latics are struggling in the Championship or League 1 with low revenue? The simple answer would be to charge us more for rent, it's a basic concept really.

33718_1325770967.jpg Games as big as Grand Finals define individuals and clubs. Remember, we only rent these journeys. In my time I had Pat Richard's shirt. Ellery Hanley had Sean O'Loughlin's jersey. Sam Tomkins is wearing Radders' number one jersey. Andy Coley is wearing Shaun Wayne's jersey. You have to make a mark in these shirts before you hand it down to someone else. Hand it back. So be aware for 80 minutes that you are not only playing, but you are also writing history and creating legacy. How many people actually write history - not many? A big stage demands big players…..INSPIRE YOUR TEAM MATES.

[quote="Saddened":15kig0eg]Pat Richards is poop. A typical, average, run of the mill NRL outside back. Nothing special at all. Like Barrett he is a myth. He is solid enough, he can catch, he can kick goals.[/quote:15kig0eg]:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_7958.jpg |

Do you know what kind of deal was signed or are you thinking too much for yourself? The simple fact is you dont know whether Latics going down will impact on the Warriors finances or not.
The best thing about these forums is the number of posters having opinions on subjects they have no knowledge on at all.

And then they have the cheek to try and put people in their place with their made up tripe.

I was reading an article earlier today (although the article was actually written in 2010) stating that the stadium was to be handed over into Wigan Athletics control. Whether this actually happened or was just another one of his "promises" though I can't find out.

I remember that , but like you I can't find anything which states he has actually done it.
