| Unbelievable. The bit that amused me the most was that he actually refers to himself in the third person in the article - "the RFL are going to hear some strong words from Garry Schofield about it".
It's like reading quotes from WWE star the Rock.
"Can you smell what the Big Fat Garry is cooking?"
No, because he's already eaten it!
Sorry, couldn't resist. Great player, but what a sad figure he has become.

| He also completely contradicts himself. On the one hand, apparently, England matches shouldn't count as caps in the same way as GB matches because lots of them are "internationals, not Test matches", then on the other he complains that he should be the outright record holder because he played for GB vs Rest of the World, in addition to his caps.
That a Test match was it Gary?

| I still struggling to get over his SL Supermen comment
'I won more games for Huddersfield than Tony Smith, so i'm a better coach'
Just....off the charts!

Soon we will be dancing the Fandango
FROM 2004,TO DO WHAT THIS CLUB'S DONE,IF THATS NOT GREATNESS THEN I DONT KNOW WHAT IS.

| Quote: JohnP "I remember him playing & he was very good. Won nowt, like.
However, truly great players are always willing to accept that time moves on & someone will always come along who betters what happened in the past. He'd do himself a lot more good if he gave credit where it's due to Morley, but instead he comes up with this childish rant.
It's a bit sad, really.'"
Yes he really should have said nothing and left some amatuer statsman to point out the way he saw it,but maybe someone already did and got intouch with him and put words in his mouth. The RFL are bigging up the game and the players involved giving it a bit of extra by announcing Morley's upcoming appearance record and rightly so

In a nutshell.
Ridiculous, utterly petulant and completely unnecessary comments.

He was ranting about it on twitter a couple of weeks ago. They are definitely his own words and opinions (opinions are like a**holes - everyone has one, but not everyone IS one!)
His argument at that time was that England caps shouldn't count when GB are the main gig is fair enough, but when GB don't play, then it's fair enough that England caps count towards your total.

| The legend that is Garry Schofield
I was confident he would not out do his "I had a better record at Huddersfield therefore I am a better coach than Tony Smith" rant on SL supermen. He then upped the anti by somehow getting a golden boot given to him, now it is the GB/Eng caps record. If there is a strict guideline on how caps should be judged then it should come from the RL and RL historians.
What next a Victoria Cross, Nobel Prize, Oscar, Grammy

| Morley's cap against Aus in 2003 should not count as he lasted only 12 seconds so after tomorrow he's only on 49 caps anyway?

| The thing is he is clearly too thick to have realised had he conducted himself with a bit more decorum in the years since he has been retired he could have become a popular ex-player to fans of many clubs.
I remember watching him play for GB v Aus at Old Trafford and he was playing centre. GB made a break and was pulled back off the ball by Mal Meninga and I have always been certain that cost is a try and ultimately the game and test series. When you have skinned a player like Meninga and reduce him to cheating you have to be a good player. I was doing my nut at the game when that happened and back then Schofield was one of my favourite GB players who I looked for on the team sheet as a player I wanted to see in the side.
Now he is just a sad and bitter man who doesn't know when to keep his trap shut. I don't know if he thinks being controversial will keep getting him columns in sports papers or whatever but if he does that would show he is just cynical. So which is it Gary? Are you a cynic out for every pound you can get from the game or are you really just Mr Bitter?

It shouldnt count because I didnt see it as I was close to the front row and there were about 200 members of a brass band who had played the national anthems walking in front of me.

| I think mr schofield must do it on purpose, then sit back and laugh to himself. Nobody can be that stupid to make the type of comments he does.
"better coach than Tony Smith"
Everybody should have ignored him from that point.
