WIGAN WARRIORS SUPER LEAGUE WINNERS 2010 CHALLENGE CUP WINNERS 2011 ST. HELENS GRAND FINAL LOSERS 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011.:

Quote: DannyT "Harsh to blame Farrell, I wish some of the others had the same enthusiasm and input with the ball. I thank Deacon for his contribution but it is time for him to leave the side now. He is a constant target in defence and although he tries hard I counted on numerous occasions the number of times he was involved in 3 consecutive tackles. Both him and Finch are distributing and not taking the line on enough (ironically Finch took it on and Locky scored for instance). I'd like to see Sam move to 6 for some unpredictability, Pat to fullback and Goulding maybe on the wing. Our backs had no ball today in the right areas. Well doen to Saints, we move on with a lack of confidence and I think the end of season is upon us sadly.'"

He made a couple of bad errors. Every game has a gamebreak moment and that Lomax break early in the second half was it after we had just scored. We would have had our tails up before that and could have took the game to them only being 2 points behind but their score soon after deflated us again. Like i put in another post Mossop would have been excellent cover in the 2nd row and also the beef we needed against their pack.

Quote: back2back 09/10 "how is it that wire blow teams away from start to finish and wigan do just enough but are now looking a lot more fatigued than wire, i know the cc is ostly to blae for that but it's only 2 more matches for ya than us. think youre coach made a mistake by not resting players properly for both comps??'"

3 more games.

Biggest reason is that the main players have not been rested. Before and after CC final the last 2 seasons Wire have rested players. Should have rested players especially last week. Taking nothing from Saints we were poor today but we have been rather poor in the last 3 now. Only team i think that can stop Wire now in Leeds. Will be 1 hell of a choice for Tony Smith if he has the choice of Leeds or us. Leeds are playing well the last few weeks and are running into form.

Glad to see you can count.

Season over for me, its a massive effort to peak for the WCC and the CC run. Even if we pull a win next week we look well off the pace, many players look to be carrying a few knocks, others like Carmont, Hoffman and Deacs look shot and would probably be dropped if we had backup.

Personally Id settle for the CC this season and look to solidify and strengthen in a few areas for next season, it might be food for thought for Leneghan if the season does not finish on a high.

Fair play to Saints, they are very consistent and if your off the boil a bit you will be beaten, I'd also like to add Lomax is developing into a top-class back and should be a shoe in for the England squad come November. Saints played as they always do, strong in the middle, good defence and decent attacking plays. We didnt hit the straps today and they wore us down. If they get to the final though i can only see it being 5 Grand Final defeats in a row as they lack that extra 5% which mean they only score on half of the plays as they should be.

To be honest I am worried about next week. Catalan are a dangerous team and are pretty damn good!

They were excellent at the DW earlier in the season. But yeah the players are looking fatigued, just looks like the extra WCC game plus the challenge cup is too much for any side.

If we do beat Catalan it will be interesting to see who Warrington pick!

Gotta gree with that. The timing of the CC is poor at the moment

Becasue it is 3 games more. Thought i would remind you incase you forgot. That although i see as a glorified friendly did force use to play Cas midweek with a short turn around and i think we lost to Catalan on that weekend. Not making exsuses but Maguire did not rest some players enough this season. Maybe forced on him in part with the Fielden injury and Gleeson going. We have a big squad but in certain areas we are thin and it has showed since the CC.

I have not been Farrels biggest fan this season but apart from that missed tackle i thought that was his best game this season.

Deacon needs to go, I am hearing he wants to play on but he shouldnt. Our attack today was woeful and whilst saints defense was great we might as well as sent them our attacking manual to read before the game because they hardly had to think on their feet to keep us out. the times they did we scored. finch not much better.

did hoffman go off injured? never saw him or so I thought.

whole team looks tired and not up to it. Richards looks as slow as a cart horse and carmont and richards are our main attacking threat.

we wont make the GF of that I am sure.

If they want it on a Bank Holiday i say put it on the BH in June. Ideal weekend for most people.

Also start the season with a round of Challenge Cup games instead of the MM weekend have that on the May Bank holiday. AAAAAA bugger it let me run the RFL.

Its in the RFL's interest to stop teams winning both competitions, they wont want to change it as it makes the competition seem more even.

i agree with that, it is alot to do, look at wires league position in 09 and failure in play offs last year. so you saying that your coach should of done a better job of maintaining the fitness level of his 17 rather than playing them each week knowing they have the wccc and he would of been quite sure of a long cup run? but even if he done this then it still would be a hard job to maintain the same level of intensity on the pitch.

this is why the league should be smaller so we have a lot higher intensity matches throughout the season.
