| Leave the car at home. Go for the weekend or overnight like most. Have a drink like most. Go to Covent garden on Sunday like most.
Going down in the car, not having a drink, and going home in the car doesn't sound like a good time to me.

| Theres a massive multi-storey car park next to a Travelodge in Watford. Train station near by as well takes you straight to Wembley.

I've used that site many times over for various events up and down the country including parking nr Manchester Airport for a mere £20 for 2 weeks (as opposed to over £50 for the "official" car parks)
We are there for the weekend, parking in Uxbridge for £9 for 3 days on a prive driveway in a residential area some 5 minutes walk from the tube station on the same Metropolitan line as Wembley.
I'd recommend this site to anyone and suggest you merely look for parking spaces near to similar tube stations that operate on the same line. Whilst the tube station will be busy after the game, the crowds do die down after an hour or so. I'd recommend you parking at a station North of Wembley as the crows on the tube tend to be heading South and the bright lights of London for their overnight stays!

I used that site last year. Plenty of places in the industrial area. I would highly recommend it. Straight in off the motorway with little traffic (although I did arrive early) then less than 5 mins walk to Wembley. Getting out after all depends on how swift you are. I left pretty much on the hooter and was in traffic for only 10 mins then motored on home. Stuff all the tube farce.

| Last couple of years I have parked at Ickenham.
Nice run down M6,M6 (toll), M42 then M40
Ickenham is about 4 miles straight off the end of the M40 - the parking is free at the station.
Tube to Wembley Park is around 7 stops and takes 20 mins.
Has been good also for getting back to the car after the game as most people seem to be trying for tubes going back towards London so not too much of a crush.
Enjoy your day.

| IF i ever move out of London and was coming from the North West my tactic would be come down the M40 (avoiding the M1, the bane of my life) and parking around Hillingdon/Ickenham avoiding most of the traffic and using the Met Line to Wembley Park.
As it is now, i just jump on at Stanmore

| Stanmore all the way for me. £1.50 all day parking and three stops to Wembley. The last 2-3 years, its always been quiet on the tube back to Stanmore and you are straight out of Stanmore and onto the M1 - if thats your route home.
Stanmore also has a wetherspoons about 5 minutes walk from the station car park - which means cheap beer as well!

| Does anyone know if there's on-street parking at Stanmore as well as the station's car park? A little concerned that by the time i get there it may be full...
