| Roby has got to be the Main Contender, he has been superb for us this year, we have been well down on the troops and he is probably one of the main reasons we are still up there in contention with the top 3. In attack he has been tremendous and just keeps going, he is like a Duracell Battery and never tires, looking at the stats makes interesting reading. He will probably set an all-time record for most meters in a season since superleague began this year….
Below is a list of the best meter makers year by year.
2003 – Vanikola with 3677m
2004 – Korkidas with 4084m
2005 – 0’Connor with 4104m
2006 – Nutley with 3372m
2007 – Roby with 3303m
2008 – Graham with 3774m
2009 – Graham with a staggering 4582m
2010 – Graham with 4036m
2011 – Roby leads with 4330m already, Graham is in 2nd with 3333m and Tomkins is in 3rd with 3130m
And then take a look at his stats in defence it’s quite shocking, Sean O’Loughlin is the best tackler at Wigan by a long way, and even if you add all his tackles, plus all Sam Tomkins tackles and even through in Pat Richards tackles as well, Roby has still done more tackles than the lot of them combined. Roby simply is not human…
Away from Saints, I think Sam Tomkins, Menzies, Chase, Monas have impressed me most and in that order..

Lockers has got to be the Main Contender, he has been superb for us this year and the last few years.

| I couldn't really fault it if Roby wins it, especially if saints win a final.
I think O'Loughlin would be a very worthy winner though as well. It'd be great for him to get it.

Lockers is a very good player, but in no way has matched Roby this year in defence or attack, Sam Tomkins has been your best player this year.

I wouldnt complain if roby wins it, but i still think someone like lockers or graham defines man of steel. When you hear it...you think..leader. and they both are, Richards and hodgen? Both top players...but MAN OF STEEL? really? dont think it defines their style.

Because he makes breaks? Dont get me wrong, i loved him running through warringtons defence, i've backed him every week for first try, but i dont feel as if lockers gets the credit he deserves. The grand final ment alot to him as did his try in the CC, For the past few years and for Englands he has come an done a job, Roby may be having a great season (i admit i'd have him playing for wigan anyday) but i still 100% believe Lockers deserved it more than anyone in the entire league, even before richards for me.

It's Sam for mine. Look how he changed the game around tonight when he came back on from his injury. He's our most important player.

Roby has only made so many metres due to his running from dummy-half. That would be 663 runs against the next highest, Danny Houghton with 289. 663? Jesus, that's 30 a game. That's just ridiculous. He's also got the highest number of carries in SL with 803 against the next highest, Rangi Chase with 545. No wonder you all think he's the dog's danglies, he's he only one carrying the ball at Saints. (and that purple-skinned ginner)
He's a great player, don't get me wrong, but one player doing so much work smells of a team not sharing the workload - which is what the best teams do.

| The top 3 will be Sam, Roby and Monaghan but who'll be first out of the 3 is still up for grabs and their form between now and the play offs will have a massive say.
Bias aside I'd still say Sams having the biggest impact of the 3 at the moment and if he keeps his form between now and the vote he'll win it.

20333_1393344959.gif Current thoughts - Mago out or get running up them plantations, get fit or get rid.
Maybe a back up halfback, someone with a bit of experience on a short term deal.
Big tall strong running second rower, like a McMeekin or Sironen type back rower.:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_20333.gif |

| Sam, nailed on.
Nobody in Superleague could have scored the tries he has this season, nobody comes close to him.

and when you shut Roby down, Saints don't function, hence why we battered them

The MOS is awarded (or supposed to be awarded) to the player who has made the most influence. Roby therefore makes the most influence in most areas. If Tomkins plays poorly the team is still able to perform to almost the same level. As you are saying 'shut Roby down and you shut the team down. Wereas shut Sam down and the team can still play.
