I think I may, I'll probably just support whoever wins on Saturday. You wouldn't see a big club like Wire changing the date of a game at late notice!

| Been told that Salford don't want to move the game to the Sunday as they've got a team function organised (Old Trafford was mentioned so don't know if it's football or cricket related) and Wigan Ath don't want the game played the day before they play Norwich so it's up to the RFL to decide: Play it at the DW on Sunday or at a neutral venue on the Friday !!

| Quote: hula89 "Theyve already proved this year that if its for a game like the WCC where he is given money by the RFL that he can get the ground turned around in time so it would be a bit rich to decide he now cant because the RFL arent paying for the game and its only us and our tenancy agreement. I know that was the other way in that they played the Saturday and we played Sunday but his excuse was always either "the ground cant be turned round in 24 hours" obviously the RFL's money changed his mind there and the other excuse was "the pitch will be affected by Rugby playing before football" now the groundsman and DW himself have both come out and said that the state of the pitch was not the Rugby teams fault so I suppose he now has to sit and take it because he will be made out to be a liar if he doesnt really.'"
Wrong.
Should we play on a Friday and Latics Saturday then the ground needs turning round in around 14-15 hours.
When Latics played Man Utd the day before the WCC they had 23-24 hours to turn around. THAT is the problem/difference that he is talking about.
The fact it used to happen all the time seems to bypass him, but now that Latics are in the PL and are seen across the World the better condition the pitch is in the better. They also can't then blame Wigan RL which works for us as well.

| Does the 24 hour rule for premierleague games not exist anymore then?

Don't think it ever did.
The only ruling is that should there be a clash then the PL game must take preference (which is prob wat DW would hide behind) but that refers to games/events on the same day I think.

Fair enough...Shouldn't be a problem then. After it was announced over the tannoy at the end of the Wakey game that the next game was Friday 12th August then it'll be pretty bad if it's moved.

| Sky are planning to show a game at 6.45pm on Sunday 14 Aug. I reckon its nailed on to be Wigan v Salford. This move will take the decision out of Whelan's hands and prevent another ground-sharing conflict.
Saints v Huddersfield will be on Fri 12 Aug @ 8pm.

| We have booked our hotel for the Salford game assuming it will be on the Friday on the strength of the anouncement made after the game on Friday . Stone wall certainty that it will now be changed .

| Banner on the front page of the official site shows Friday 12th if that is any indication - Sky picks are due on Monday (their second game is Saturday, not Sunday so wouldn't make any difference - besides I honestly can't see Sky picking it?)

It won't.
Sky's preference is trumped by ground availability. They can send the cameras wherever they want, but if the Stadium management company says we can't play at that time, then they're showing nowt.

| Im sure they would have said something by now if the game was going to be moved as the football club would have known early june and they would have flagged it up with the FA just like they dont have MUFC playing at home the weekend of the GF.

| Very dissapointed that both semi finals are on bbc2 which will mean less viewers, does anybody have a list of potential semi venues that we cant use whoever makes it.
