coach.

Only fault I found (apart from the Ref of course) was the lack of pubs & restaurants around the ground, well within walking distance anyway. We got there quite early hoping to find somewhere for dinner but had no luck really, we had to plump for the old faithful (burger & chips from ground), but other than that no complaints really.'"
There are plenty of places about 10-15 minutes walk away near Twickenham Train Station but the problem is, if you don't know the area you wouldn't have a clue.
Don't go a chippy near there though. I asked for chips and gravy and the guy put the kettle on for the gravy! Not only that it came back lumpy! Obviously not much call for Gravy down theer haha!

| Loads of pubs in Twickenham itself, but most fans come in off the A316 and Twickenham central is the opposite side to that.
Living down here i've been to The Stoop at least 20 times now and the beer queue is slow but a lot quicker than the DW away end. Under the East there is always entertainment and if you stay after the game the Captain and man of the match will come in and do a live interview. I think it's one of the best stadiums in the league and the whole experience is warm and friendly, unlike those Wigan fans when they spotted my Wire shirt

I thought you got off pretty lightly yesterday, and took it well. I'm sure if any Wigan fan goes to the Stoop next week in a Wigan shirt they will get far worse abuse than you did yesterday.

| Northerner complains about southern bitter!!!
I like going to the stoop. Being able to wander round makes a far better atmosphereand there is always the opportunity to catch the players for a drink afterwards.

12150.jpg It's just WIGAN, nothing else. Get rid of that stupid nickname.:12150.jpg |
|
| How could you wander around? It was £15 in our stand and I think £20 in the others...did they let you sit anywhere?
And, 'Big Steve', catching the players for a drink is no good when you're a Northerner and they only have Southern bitter to catch them with/from/to.
Anyroad, the bitter in all the pubs we went in was ok.
And the ladies still say the ladies was horrible. Presumably none of you lot were with ladies who went to the ladies.
Also, I have never heard of Brian Telford, top chap though I am sure he is.
Also, 'Robinson', if you think that ale was decent, you are clearly not one of the excellent Stockport brewing Robinsons.
Also, if you sup in the concrete corridors of the DW, you don't deserve proper ale.

| Everybody was wandering around we sat in the north stand to watch the kids before the the main match. Went to the Kings bar for a few beers after the Kids games . Sat in the East Stand with some friends to watch the Wigan match. Wandered round to the bar at the side of the South Stand after the Wigan game for a refill and sat in the West stand to watch the first half of the Skolars game. Followed the Captain and his "new best friend" Ryan Hoffman to the Players bar , had a chat with some of the players in the Kings bar the took in the "Brian Telford Experience" which was quite a show . Now i dont know Brian from Adam but i sure as hell Know who he is now . Wandered around after the show and met a few posters from this forun who, because i live in Edinburgh had not had the pleasure of meeting before . All in all it was a wandering around kind of day .

Post next week and tell us how it went. I'm sure it'll be o.k. the majority of Wire fans are decent supporters.
You'll get a bit of "Who the fookin hell are Wigan" etc. but go and have a beer and a chat with them in the Kings bar after the game and you'll be o.k.

I'm sure it's £15 everywhere, and they seem to have given up on stewards, no that this information is any good to you now.
By the way, totally ignorant question, why do you hate Warrington so much (compared to Saints)?

39110_1363272058.jpg Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot
Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good
-
sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league
-
Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate
-
the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever
-
Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go
-
Saint94..Every team is in your feckin shadow, we all know

I got some pretty bad abuse when I got a ticket for the Saints v Warrington game last year at KR. I also got the worst abuse at Wigan train station when I had just got back from Coventry on the train. It went through Warrington, didn't think that one through! I was surrounded by chavs at the train station, I would like to think they are not the usual Warrington away day crew and were hopping on the bandwagon for the Wigan game.

Romain Navarrete: “I’m very happy to have signed for Wigan Warriors. As soon I knew that Wigan were interested, they were the only team that I wanted to sign for.
