39110_1363272058.jpg Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot
Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good
-
sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league
-
Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate
-
the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever
-
Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go
-
Saint94..Every team is in your feckin shadow, we all know

| Even at away games it can be poor. We just don't have enough big games in RL, big games get people singing. You have to go abroad to find fans who will sing none stop no matter who the opposition is and no matter what the score is.
If every game in RL was a good close game with stadiums full then every game would be a great atmosphere but this just isn't the case.
I reckon a decent solution could be a 'singing section' run by the Brigantes... get a few hundred people all stood together singing and it would get the rest of the stadium bouncing and even if it doesn't, at least the people who want to sing will be stood together getting behind the team!

Exactly. A lot of us who go to away games are in the East (plus a few pensioners in the West ).
There's also the fact that for most games (apart from Saints & Wire), there are hardly any away fans to wind up)

| Singing section is what we need fill the corner between the east and south there is an extra 3k and all those who try to get the atmosphere going can sit there because at the moment the east will start a song off then 5 sec later the south join in and vice-versa.

| i sat just one block away from the bouncing lot on Friday night and even just one block away there were many, many people looking at each other wondering what the hell the 'song' was...
even when it had been going 10minutes people wouldn't join in due to the lack of association to Wigan RL.
dont get me wrong. the amosphere element was good.
but that atmosphere could be replicated with a song related to Wigan RL. even with the 'Just can't get enough' song.
no doubt the backlash from many on here will come to this but please, remember the shirts debarcle on here. this site isn't a 100% accurate representation of Wigan fans and their thoughts.
IMO that song wont get much further than the 50 odd people singing it on Friday night. ESPECIALLY at home games.

again, i credit the idea. i credit the dedication to bounce and 'sing' (can it be called singing?) for as long as that group did on Friday.
i just think it'd spread more with a slight connection to Wigan RL. just look how the 'Just can't get enough' took off...

A lot of the people who sit in the South might not necessarily go to the away games.

| To be fair Bowtun Warrior there were people sat close to the singers who stayed sat down when 'Stand up for the Champions' was sung. If those are the same people who are looking around puzzled when Dale Cavese is sung then that's a result for me.

| Why dont the singers in the South try the East for a home match to get all the singers together?
Why dont you approach the club with the idea for a one off match to allow admission for Brigantes members in the South to use their tickets at no extra cost in the East and see what happens?

there always will be those who dont sing or in that case, stand to a song....
but i was sat in a group of 7 (including me) and none of those with me liked it or were willing to join in on the very basis that it had no meaning.

This would be a good idea to ask the club but a doubt the club would be willing people to go into a stand which they have not paid for because of all the fans who have purchased seasons tickets might not agree with tthe idea

| That atmosphere wont happen at a home game. The flags are as good as we'll get unfortunately.

| I think that the only way we would get the majority of the fans to sing is if we sing a popular song that most people know. I presume most Liverpool fans sing You'll Never Walk Alone because everyone knows the lyrics. What song we might sing I don't know but I'm sure someone come come up with a good idea.
I must admit to not knowing the song that mentions the stars of Wigan rugby league.

Can't please all of the people all of the time I suppose pal. As for Just Can't Get Enough, that was sung with some gusto at the final whistle as the team came to applaud the crowd but you'll never get that sung for 20 minutes non-stop. In terms of the meaning, the Dale Cavese is one the great Ultras anthems and it started off a few games back with a few lads who want to bring an Ultras culture to Wigan. It won't suit everyone of course but it captured the spirit of the moment on Friday night and there were certainly more than 50 people involved as you can see from the video. There were hundreds involved. I've supported Wigan for years and that was the most joyous, carnival type atmosphere that I have ever witnessed. It didn't have to say Wigan in the song. It was letting the old enemy and the viewers on SKY know that we were up for a celebration.
