Union people are idiots. They almost universally accept that league is a better, faster game played by better athletes, yet for some reason they continue to disregard and belittle it. That game is tedious as hell from start to finish. If he'd ever played or even bothered to give more than a fleeting chance to league he would realise that the game is far more 'technical' than Union ever could be. Booting the ball into touch, scrummaging and forming rucks and mauls aren't areas that involve any skill, technique or mental capacity whatsoever. These are clumsy, outdated facets of the game that are also extremely uninteresting to watch and thus have to be defended in some way by people who are too prejudiced to see the truth.[/quote:lnxdgxk2]: |

Clarkey must be getting some smack of them rugby gods then!
Surely no one listens to phil clarke anyway? Unfortunately he's spent too long with eddie and stevo and thinks the best way to progress his television career is to spout benignl outlandish rubbish at any opportunity and try and be more controversial than his chums
When he first came to Sky he was an intelligent summariser, though unfortunately stevo and eddie have denegrated him to a class clown! I just hope Jon Wells and Brian Carney dont go the same way as they're the only intelligent voices we ever get to hear on sky!

| Personally imo I wish the Rlfans creators would ban all discussions/childish arguments between boards, fans should stick to their own board, its boring coming on this forum reading these irritating my dads bigger than your dad petty word wars mainly between "certain" Wigan/Wire "fans". There should be a ban preventing fans from swapping boards as some do it simply on the wind up known as "trolls" I understand the board is for voicing opinions but it should be done via their forum not other clubs that way its up to those fans to decide if its a topic worth discussion, its not just Wigan/Wire by the way you get it with the Hull boards or Leeds/Bulls or Wigan/Saints etc. It almost surprises me we don't get into Football Factory style fan wars the amount of petty bickering that goes on its sad.

Give over! The most important stats right now are that Wire have lost twice as many games as us, and all other things being equal our game in hand against Cas will take us to the top of the league. This image that seems to be snowballing of Wire as some sort of unstoppable force is nonsense. Had we played Castleford at the originally scheduled time we would have been top of the league ourselves most of the season.

| Even if Wire are the best side thus far in SL 2011 (debatable as they're two points above us in the table but we have 2 games in hand), who cares? The title isn't won in May.
Love the ridiculous over-reaction to gerr'emonside's postings, including the banning threat by a Wire mod, on idiot central (sorry, the Wire board).

| Look the bottomline is that Wire had a good win lastnight against Leeds and they should be happy with their team at the moment! There is nothing wrong with that!
We have our chance on Monday to draw level again and still have a game in hand, so instead of another Wigan vs Wire thread that ends up just childish name calling!
Can we just concentrate on what we are doing, I know it's ok for some banter but this is just becoming pathetic from the minority of both Wigan and Wire.
Now i feel better!
By the way i can't wait for the CC match it should be a fantastic game especially when Wigan win.

| What Wire fans seem to forget is that if we win our game in hand and beat Hull KR athome Monday we are 2 points clear of them having played the same amount of games.......what does that tell you...........
Anyway, I have been very impressed with Wire this season, as much as it pains me to say it they are playing some awesome rugby and defending superbly.

If you don't bother to go to the game when you live in the locality then you are not really a fan and therefore your views are invalid. It's simple.:icons39ad_files/4821-1859san_c-msnicons.jpg |

| Good result for them last night. Played well. Leeds are still blowing hot and cold so its hard to judge fairly. I still think that confidence plays a big part in thier success and that if you snuff out Briers they struggle. That said, Smith has really been able to get the consistancy out of him that his carreer has lacked. He could have been a player that all could have looked to as a great, if he was not such a fanny!!

| been very impressed with wire at the moment. The question still lies is will they be able to do it when all top 8 teams are going full throttle at each other in the playoffs? At the minute you would have to think so and they are definately in with a shot for the title as are wigan saints and huddersfield. Hodgson has been brilliant for them at full back and their outside backs are reaping the rewards of good work by the pack. However, this is a long season. Injuries can mount up and other teams could and will get players back.
Personally I think Leeds are out of it. There coach is clueless. I seriously don't think I have ever seen a coach use the interchanges so poorly. Bringing Burrow on after 60 minutes when the game was over was a joke as was the poor rotation of the props. Last night was a chance for leeds to have sinfield burrow and mcguire all on the pitch as they where last year and they didn't take advantage of it. Think Leeds are going to go downhill from here aswell. They don't have the quality of youth as wigan wire and saints do and this is going to hamper them.

| Warrington are currently far better than Wigan. Wigan blow hot and cold and at times look woeful (CC v Bradford). Warrington for me are clearly the best side, looks frightening spinning the ball out wide and very powerful down the middle.
Wigans pack is currently not a patch on wires and our backs out wide wouldn't be able to deal with them.
However the CC game is a while away, with Hock and possibly Fielden back we'll have more grunt and experience in the pack. Finch is improve game by game and Sam is simply awesome linking from FB.
Right now if I called it? Wire to win. Overpower Wigan down the middle annd spread it wide catching our 'unsettled' 3/4 out. Or bomb Sam and Josh. With potentially dogman and King on the wings they'll beat our back three in mid air challenges.

Warrington led 16-2 in Saturday's Grand Final, but their joy was short-lived as Wigan roared back to win the Super League title and extend the Wire's 58-year wait to be champions:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_10174.png |

| I'd agree that Wire are better than us at the moment, but we look like we are playing with plenty in reserve. We're just doing enough to grind out the wins and it's working at the moment. Just hope that Madge is prepping us to go full tilt at the run-in.

23997_1287161421.jpg
Great game of rugby league. Fantastic atmosphere, Wigan were breathtaking and dominant in all areas for the first 25 minutes, coupled with us making alot of dumb mistakes, then fortunately they brought McIlorum on which helped us back into the game. I thought some of the tries we scored to get us within two we're out of this world stuff. Towards the end we had to force it a little and we had a few things go wrong, i.e Monas kick on the first for King and Solomona going off who was causing havoc. Wigan were clinical in their eventual execution of us. Proud of Wire today and gave us a little glimpse to the future. Silverwood was awful as per, but I expect no less. Tomkins is a world class player and by far the best english player in SL. Wigan are a champion side and would be a worthy winner of taking our title as challenge cup. Good luck over the next month and a bit.
:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_23997.jpg |
