In 1995 and 1997 Super League players were made ineligible for the ARL state of origin selection. Although Ricky Stuart wants to play people in positions they play for their club, so he wasn't going to play Idris at left centre because he normally plays on the right. Gansier is on the right for the Blues, cant argue with that.

I'd seriously play Idris over Gaz. Think he's now a better centre. Tim Sheens seems to think the same with recent Aus selection.
Gaz doesn't look as effective in attack. I don't think he's as good as he was before he moved over to onion.
