Every time you use the term 'world class' unnecessarily another angel falls from the sky. For me world class players are the likes of Greg Inglis, Shaun Kenny-Dowall, Jonathan Thurston, and Cameron Smith. When I think world class I think of guys who are the best in their position in the world, usually players who are ripping it up in the NRL and internationally. Some people seem to throw it about to the point where there are more than 50 'world class' players at any one time and the term becomes fairly meaningless.

| 1. S. Tomkins
2. Charnley
3. J. Tomkins
4.
5. Richards
6. Finch
7. Leuluai
8. Fielden
9. McIllorum / new hooker
10. Lima
11. Farrell
12. Hansen
13. O'Loughlin
14. Hock
15. Mossop
16. Prescott
17. J. Mellor / Logan Tomkins
This leaves the likes of Tuson, Goulding, Marsh, Roberts (if he stays), Crosby, etc in reserve. I really think we need to give Joe Mellor and L. Tomkins a lot of game time next year. A strike centre is a must, as is a hooker (maybe one in his early 30's on a 1-2 year deal to oversee L Tomkins intro to the team).

| Personally, I think we IFL should be on the phone to Ben Pomeroy as a replacement for George.

Pomeroy is a big centre and could end up like Bailey, Delaney, Soliola being used more as second row. I would look to sign a centre with more pace.

Eh? What has his size got to do with anything? Inglis is twice his size.
He is a big lad but has genuine pace, good feet and is positionally sound in defence. Why would he end up like any of those?
Bailey had only ever played a handful of games at centre until 2006, he was always a 2nd row.
Soliola has always been a centre/back row.
Delaney has played just one game at 2nd row and I believe that had less to do with him as a player than it did to do with the fact that in that game Leeds were missing 6 forwards.
Other than centre, the only other position that I've seen Pomeroy play is on the wing.

They were just saying on the fox nrl show Last night how player contracts and wages are public knowledge over here! The top marquee players like Lockyer, Thurston, inglis and hodges are on half a million asd that's around £350 grand a season?
I doubt any sl club could pay one player of that ability enough to get him away from the nrl and all that goes with it and still have a balanced squad.
If Wigan spend a 1/4 of their cap on one player good luck to ya. but those home grown kids won't play for average wages for long. They will want a fair wage for their efforts.

Inglis would be a big one to be twice the size of Pomeroy, at least 30 stone. Just stating that a lot of big centres end up in the back row. If you look at your comments they have all played both positions centre/second row in my opinion Pomeroy would end up doing the same.

30 Stone....
Sounds like Dean Widders.
Size has nowt to do with it anyway, It is all about mobility.

Don't be daft, you know what I meant. You said that because he's big, he'll end up in the back row. I was saying that Inglis is much bigger and has never played back row.
He's got to 27 without playing in the pack. It certainly won't happen this side of 31.
Did you see the Sharks v Dragons earlier this year? Pomeroy and Best played Gasnier and Cooper off the park.

Willie tonga is out of contract? Wigan could do a lot worse than trying to get this bloke! He would be near the top of your cap but might just be doable
