Great DVD. I got it last week and I've watched it twice already. RL was played so much better then - much more creative.

And I'd forgotten just how vicious Bobbie Goulding's attack on Jason Robinson was - he was very lucky indeed that Richie Eyres had been sent off just a few minutes earlier, or he would have walked too.

The 8 Challenge Cups only tell probably about 30% of the story, though. I think we won five championships on the trot during that run, too, as well as pretty much everything else.

And the other thing the DVD doesn't highlight is the all the young, homegrown players that did the job, and the players we signed from out of nowhere. It doesnt do anything to dispel the myth that all we ever did was sign all the top, big money players - it was, in fact, Leeds who did that.

How long is the DVD? Is there much footage of the finals?

Don't talk rubbish. We were the only professional club and signed players just so other clubs couldn't have them. We had a squad of about 60 players.

You're forgetting the bit where we signed the entire Australian first team just so we could win the Challenge Cup.

Relived so many memories - went to all the finals, all the semis and almost all the other games. Still remember driving over to Hull KR in the snow in 1990 when Wigan scraped a 6 -4 win ( David Marshall try) and Halifax away in the snow in 1993 when a Joe Lydon drop goal from 40 yards out won the game ( 19-1icon_cool.gif.

Was impressed with the sheer quality of Wigan's attack in those days. And the quality backs to the wall defence when it was needed ( Saints 91 when so many players were carrying knocks/injuries after Mission Impossible)

I'd forgotten how many "stars" Leeds had bought mid 90's - Iro, Hanley Ines,Tait, Eyres - and even with Gary Schofield they still couldn't beat us! Hadn't noticed before the punch Frano Botica gave to Jimmy Lowes just before the end of the game. Can't recall Frano ever doing that!

If there was ever one player that even the most placid player would punch, it would be Jimmy Lowes. That fella would test the patience of a saint.

A good 2 hours and it shows every try of the finals and lifting the cup

I went to all these finals and the majority of the rounds as well.

I was disappointed. This is simply a load of poor quality low resolution BBC footage of the finals and the odd extra try.

I was looking forward to seeing the rounds rather than the finals, which I have on VHS in as good quality footage anyway.

Yes great for the nostalgia and a few good coments but could have been much better.

Is it wrong that I want to watch it?
