| Quote: Beverley red "Friday night for both Hull clubs away is a pain for us & it happens more often for us. A bit off topic but our last game with Leeds on a Saturday afternoon was a nice change (the result helped a bit) no work next day & still time for a proper night out after the game for both sets of fans.
I wonder if we might try it of our own accord?. Anyway I hope to see you all that can make the trip & hope you travel safely but disapointed I think it may be interesting.
Just to put your geography right Hull is in Yorkshire & always has been Humberside (born 1974 died a few years ago) was an aberation best forgotten.'"
Hull is a river but that still makes you right.
The name of your city is Kingston upon Hull.
How/why did it get shortened to Hull? That's like calling Newcastle Tyne or Henley Thames.
Sadly, can't make the game this Friday.

If you've ever been there you'd know that it's actually been shortened to 'ull.

Always makes me laugh when I see comments like these. My job takes me all over the north of England, mainly to deprived areas of towns and cities and over the last year I have covered most RL playing areas, in fact when I switch this off i am going to Cas and Wakey, with Leeds on Wednesday. Last week I was in St Hellens, Runcorn and the Wigan area.
I have yet to see any area of Hull that can compete with these areas in the $hithole stakes.

I didn't read their post as a having 'a go' at Hull but nevertheless your post is spot on. The North West is riddled with rat infested places such as Orford and Dallam in Warrington, Thatto Heath in Sint Ellins, and parts of Abram.

Be a bit different this year with it being on a Friday night rather than a sunny Sunday afternoon.
Who's going? Should be a cracking game with Hull KR picking up the win against Leeds this past weekend. I think it's a must win really, as we could see ourselves 6 points off the top going into easter! But best not to dwell on that. I'm looking forward to a cracking game with a cracking atmosphere.
Cheers!'"
Can you post this on all the other teams Boards as they are constantly slagging it off, mostly unjustified (I really hope you were'nt being sarcarstic)

| This will be a pivotal game in our season, because it will tell us a lot about our potential this year in my view.
Just one win in the last four games...and some pretty poor performances too. Even the win against Hull was scratchy.
So... will it be a good performance (back to the standard we reach at Hudds) or will we splutter again?
If its the latter we're in big trouble because 5 poor performances in a row is not a blip..it'll demonistrate there are serious problems.
If we win with a good performance..it'll tee up good friday and the opportunity to kick on to greater things.
Interesting the bookies have Wigan -8 , but then again they had us-18 last week!
Lets hope we turn the corner tonight.

It wasn't. I spent three years at Uni there (one year in Cottingham, two years just off Bev Road). I was merely stating that the local omit the 'H' from the name.

The anti-royalist sentiments of the town's inhabitants prevented the name "King's Town on Hull" from sticking.

Same here only finish at 6.30, first game missed this season, can't get time off a well known Telecommunications Company, M62 on a Friday, nightmare. but not as bad as M6 tomorrow !
We are winning !! this is more nervous than being at the game.
