| This is either a load of rubbish or it's true in which case it is very, very worrying indeed.
As others have said why would RL want to showcase one of the best wingers in the world in another sport? Pat's range of skills and athletic ability put him in a completely different class to any RU winger. Whilst it would be amusing to see Pat expose the gulf in class that remains between RL and RU it is not good at all for Wigan or RL for Pat to be in a potential shop window.

Exactly, this could go (if true) the same way as what happened a few years ago. I was quite young at the time so I may losing some details in recollection, but, didn't we let Tuigalmala, Robinson, Connolly and Henry Paul go to Union for the off season one year then soon after all 4 ended up jumping codes soon after on a (at the time) permanent basis.

| I can't help wondering if Mick Hogan has now realised that there's more to life than money.
You get the impression he's barely stopped thinking about Wigan since the first morning he arrived at Sale and the reality of what he'd done hit him in the face like a brick.

| Maybe Sale want to play Richards in their "on the road" game at the Reebok to try and get some Wigan RL fans to the game.

| Has Richard's ever played RU before? I can't see him going as he has another 4+ weeks to go yet before he is fit enough anyway. Seems a hairbrained idea to me if it is true. - Can't see it happening to be honest.

It's obvious what's in it for Sale but I don't see why we would want to do it.

| Tell the grubby little beggars to keep away from Pat.
God who do these RU clubs think they are trying to nick RL's best players no matter which club they play for.

On the guardian website it says it's a non story but Sale are looking at him for next season. Mind you in the same article it says that Long is coming back to play for saints this year once Eastmond is sacked.

I like that quote. A Sharks spokesman confirmed "they'd be interested in signing him".
Yeah, them and the rest of the world.
We need to sign Paddy on again, and let Union take him when he's 38. He'll still be good for another 10 years in that game.

| I expect that once Pat proves he is over his injury, a new 2-3 year deal will be waiting for him.
IL, clearly, is no mug. He wont let a possession as prized as Pat leave easily.
