I'm not convinced on him yet. He has a really awkward running style, and never looks up to pass. There's more to rugby than just putting your head down and charging at the line.

It's something I've said about him for a long time. He has pace and is elusive BUT at the moment he is too much head down and unaware of what is going on around him to be a top class centre.

However he is young and still learning.

I really worry when it comes to him learning about that running style tbh. It would seem something he must have had in his game from being a young kid and to change that is going to take an awful lot of hard work. I presume he's always run like that anyway.

If that style continues going forward theres no way he'll cut it at centre and his only real option if he wants to make it at Wigan will be to play on the Wing and even then with that style his game would be limited.

Maybe it's just nerves due to him wanting to impress. I really hope so anyway.

Thats the strange thing though that even though Charnley has proved himself to be a real top prospect on loan at HKR and in his couple of games with us and Marsh looks to have struggled i'm still convinced that Maguire sees Marsh as the better prospect short term for that right centre slot.

Maguire obviously sees these lads day in day out in training and must see something special in Marsh or something in his game that is more suited to that right centre spot then Charnley. I can't see it during games and would back Charnley in the position after the way he played for HKR especially against Leeds on debut when he gave superleagues best ever British centre in Keith Senior a very tough night.

If the rumours are true about our current number 3 and we do need a replacement i'd love to see it given to Charnley btu i'm not convinced. I guess we'll see for sure against Hull if Amos Roberts is back fit and playing on the left wing.

Very true but if rumours are to be believed either him, Charnley or Goulding need to be ready now if we are to defend our SL title.

He’s shown he’s got potential and pace but he’s not there yet which means he may miss his chance.

Runs like a Chimpanze (albeit a very fast one), cant pass, cant tackle and cant take the high ball

Apart from hes OK, hes NL1 standard at best.

Got Widnes or Leigh written all over him

Compared to that Blonde centre for Warrington tonight he's developing very slow.

he had few scoring chances last night, and didn't take them. Not quite ready for me IMO. Not first team anyway.

Charnley is a left sided player, Marsh is a right sided player.

However, Marsh lacks the size and power IMO to be world class. Although he does have the speed. If he gets a bad injury, what then?

He played right centre for Hull KR whilst he was on loan there. Also played right wing when Wigan played there last year.

He played left centre at KR when Webster was injured. Wellham is their right centre.

Wellham's left. You can't just guess from the number on their back, just as St. George have Morris(2) on the left.

Why aren't they interchangeable? Left and right sided players I mean.
