| Just back in the car. The best team won tonight, their defence was fantastic, anyone who doesn't think the Aussies take the wcc seriously needs to watch that Dragons defence. Morris is quite simply a freak, I knew he was quick but bloody hell! They looked like scoring everytime the ball went down that wing. Thought we played well but just couldn't get through their defence in the second half, we had the chances but they didn't give us an inch. I thought it was a good game of rugby although it may have looked different on tv. I think we would have smashed any superleague team tonight and I look forward to the lads taking their frustration out on Salford!
Easy win for the Dragons? Never in a month of Sundays!!

No it wasn't.
I'm no fan of wigan, thats for sure, but St G were hanging on at the end.
I'm sure if you ask them, that will have been as hard a game as they played in the NRL last season.
You are just an idiot who likes to wind up poms.

| would any sl side have given an aussie side such a game never mind a beating given their preparation if the game was played in oz?
if this fixture was played down under they would beat any sl side by 40 to 50 points easily

| Stop biting at comments that are intended to get a reaction.
FFS we lost to an exceptional side, whose defence is the best ive seen. Not just that but no one has pointed out the players we had missing from that game.
Lima, Finch, Fielden and Pat Richards. Shows strength in the squad when we give the best side in the NRL a run for their money.
Best team won and GL to them in the NRL season.

What do you base that ridiculous assumption on? Do you do lottery numbers too?

| Some of the best defence ive ever seen from St George tonight
We can be proud we pushed them close, their 3/4 line blows away anything in the SL. Play like that and we will be back at old trafford come the autumn

| Quote: I Grope Balls "my god how much do you actually want in your favour?
wigan have played pre season games and also a full hit out against saints and also an away game against the bulls in the sl competition
st george havn't played any competition games, have flown around the world only a week previously, went behind early in tonights game, but still cantered away for an easy win keeping wigan scoreless and on their home ground in the 2nd half?
sounds conclusive to me'"
St George were by far the better team, absolutely awesome, so no disgrace to Wigan who were well beaten and second half was shut out completely.
I agree with the above, how anyone can say these games are not stacked in the British team's favour is beyond me.
[listThe aussies season does not start for 2 more weeks, whereas the british clubs have already had a couple of games.
The aussies have to travel 24 hours to get here.
The weather conditions are cold, wet and dark and in the british winter whereas the aussies have come from the height of their summer.
The ref is a super league ref and not an NRL ref - so again in the british teams favour.
The ground is the home ground of the british club.
The attendance is 95% in favour of the british team.
[/list
Sorry but if it's stacked in anyones favour it ain't the aussies

| absolutely awesome game, im so proud that we were a part of it and pushed them so close. the super league opposition fans giggling at us are just making tits of themselves.
Great effort by every single one of our guys, BMOZ is a monster!!! He was the difference between win and lose today, any other winger Goulding would have been able to handle but he is just unreal!

| I have to say i left the ground tonight a bit disappointed with the score, but also confident that if Wigan put that effort in every game then we will have another shot at the WCC next year...St George were awesome and would have beaten any side in the world tonight ,but Wigan were far from disgraced, and were only 1 score behind at the end, the players should feel proud of their efforts tonight..it was nice to hear everyone clapping at the end despite the defeat.....

| First of all what a game! Both sides played well indeed and I enjoyed watching it. St George's defence was just like a brick wall! Wigan did extremely well to cope with them, no excuses about losing it was just a class Aussie side!
The Aussies was very clever to target Gleeson, as they knew he was unfit... Goulding couldn't really do much with probably the best winger on his side Morris... As soon as Glee come off and Joel went into the centres the game changed... Defencively.
If you notice Wigan and St George play very alike they throw the ball about the same etc... This is what Mcguire has brough to wigan the difference was St George has played like that for years and plays opposition every week that plays the same type of rugby whereas Wigan have played like this for just over a season and have never played an opposition that plays the same type of rugby. So they did well....
I thought Carmont was just awesome tonight I couldn't fault him at all in attack or defence... MOM for ME!!!
I didn't even see Hoffman play? Where the hell was he? I see him number at the end of the game, did he take a drive in? or make a tackle?
We missed Richards, Lima, Finch & Fielden tonight, maybe the game could of changed if they played?
How is St George not at full fitness? They just beat 2 Aussie sides before coming over here...
Nobody would of beat St george tonight, no other team would of beat wigan infact tonight they played very well IMO.
Hope we win the Superleague again this season so we can have another bite at it as I don't think we are far away from matching these Aussie teams.
Comon Wigan!!!
