| I think Hoffman will be a lot more of an asset to us than some people think. In those big home games we lost last season (Saints, Wire, Leeds in the play-offs and even Hudds) we definately lacked that bit of experience and steel in our pack. Someone who will make the right decisions when the pressure is really on. Tuson and Farrell are great talents but their lack of experience did show at times which is understandable.

| Sadly, I don't think Eastmond has the physical and mental strength fulfill a 12/13 year career in Rugby League. Hope he proves me wrong.
I'd take Graham in a heartbeat.
In regards to Roby, he's too good to play off the bench. Let's take a look at McIlorum this season and see how he adapts to having the number 9 on his back. I think he'll have a stormer personally.

Avoiding injuries is the key for Mcilorum.

| Eastmond played 19 out of the 27 Super League games in 2010, scoring 15 tries. He got unlucky with a bad ankle injury, and instead of letting it heal properly they kept on putting him back in the team. On the whole, he doesnt seem particularly injury prone to me - especially compared to someone like Gary Wheeler who plays a couple of games then misses a couple with a different niggly injury each time.

Hasn't he needed surgery on both ankles, though? That has to be a worry for a player of his age.

Suggestion has been there have been a few problems with the way some of our younger players have bulked up, leading to strain on their joints, and persistent injuries.
The second injury was a complete freak that could have happened to any player, indeed, I saw an American Footballer achieve the same injury on Sunday.
And I would move hell and high water to keep Kyle at Saints. Not just for Saints, but for British RL.
I would trade five years of being Wigans bridesmaid again if it meant five years of British dominance on the international scene. Because that is what offers the game long term stability. The British strength thing, not Wigan winning everything.

| Quote: Cruncher "You can't just ignore Eastmond's injury record; at present, that blows away any notion that he's a guaranteed England 6 for the next decade. For a youngster, he's on the treatment bench with alarming regularity. Sure, he may just have been astonishingly unlucky, but quite often this sort of thing means that either his body's not up to the game or his head isn't. In any case, in the few times when Amos fired last season, he looked 20 times more deadly than I've ever seen Eastmond (though admittedly I've only seen Eastmond's TV games).
At the end of the day, I'd love to have a talent at Wigan like Eastmond, but not the way he is at present, and not at the expense of the two players you mention. Now Roby might be another matter. If Roby was available, I'd seriously hope Wigan would be enquiring.'"
I agree his injury record is extremely concerning, People didn't like me saying this on the Saints Board but I'm good mates with an ex academy player who played with Kyle and he is less than complimentary saying that he has always believed that many of the injuries he has had are in his head. If it's true it's certainly much more difficult to get over than being unlucky wih injuries.

Which is a shame, because he was a very exciting talent when he first came on the scene.

As you know I've heard and stated something similar myself.
However, if he does become available I would take the risk. He was a Wigan fan and wanted to play for Wigan when he was a kid, so it could be worth taking a chance.

| I do hope he recovers completely, he's a very exciting player to watch when fully fit (except when scoring last minute tries against us...!)

| If Eastmond came to Wigan he would demand a large wage.
Not too sure if this is how IL thinks.
As for Roby, anytime he wants to come to Wigan the door's open as far as I'm concerned.
The real mystery to me is why Saints played Roby off the bench in the GF with so many absentees. Glad they did mind, but I just can't understand why as he's such a very good player!
By the time he came on Saints were 16-0 down which turned out to be a match winning lead.

| so heres a though..... Roby or Cameron Smith ????
Roby best hooker in SL by a mile, british player, plenty of time in front of him
Smith, arguably the best hooker in the world, would be extortionate cap wise, and overseas spot, would probably have to sacrifice others to get him.
Hypothetical but what would you do if given the choice
