Good choice of ref cant complain as if we play rubbish and lose you cant blame ganson.

My thoughts exactly. We should be aiming to win by a big enough margin so that any errors by the referee don't affect us winning the game.

That's all well & good, but for the big games the scores generally tend to be very close and so a referee's error or decision can be the difference between winning and losing.

Best ref around to be fair but agree with Hogan on this one. Whoever the ref may be has little to no bearing on a game if we preform to our best. The fact that Phil Bentham has reffed alot of Wigan defeats over the past couple of years is just a conincidence and other factors were the main ones in losing those games.

Don't give him an excuse to penalise us and he can't.

If he wants to penalise you he will. Simple as that. The Leeds home game was a classic example. The press during the week had rambled on about our "holding down tactics" and in the opening ten minutes Ganson had it in his mind he was penalising Wigan. It was absolutely ridiculous.

They were all correct calls. We were holding down. The only problem I had with it was that he wasn't consistent when Leeds were holding down.

We're not the most penalised side in the league for no reason.
