whoever thinks Child would be a good idea for the Wire game obviously wasn't at the Cas away game or hasn't seen the DVD. Amongst other things McGoldrick was niggling all game and there were times where it looked like he had lost all control. In a high intensity game it would descend into anarchy with brawls left right and centre. There were a few occasions when he said play on then changed his mind, a goal that was ten yards wide which he gave (one touch judge gave it the other didn't) and generally looked totally out of his depth. Far too inexperienced and nowhere near ascertive enough for such a big game.

We have only lost 4. Bradford, Quins, Saints & Leeds.

Why all this clamour for Childs? When I've seen him this year he has been poor, doesn't know what offside is for a start off!

he sent coley off last week and wasn't fit to burn, and did make some poor calls both ways

what we have got to accept is that the refs are human. players whether we like it or not are trying to con them into awarding a penalty, dropping the ball when 3 men in tackle, diving forward if someone lying on etc etc

in the main the ref usually gets praise if the game flows, but at the same time people grumble about not being square, not being back 10 etc

as the game is on TV, it would be the Steve Ganson show IMO. fantastic ref when not on the box, but god would he love being the 1st RL ref in 3D (not sure the viewers would appreciate his physique in 3d)

as long as the ref plays it fairly not bothered who we get. if we are penalised for not being square, Wire get penalissed for not being square is all I ask for

Bentham is the ref for Wire v Cas this afternoon so i don't feel he will get Wire two weeks running. We should be ok for Friday.
