Agreed. It's as if he has this 'Cult Status' that surrounds him that means he's untouchable, his weaknesses are either ignored or not seen by these fans. I agree that he can have the odd great barnstorming run every few games like the one he scored against Hull KR in the playoffs and the run he had against Hull FC a few years back. His defence is solid most of the time but when he gets fatigued, he backs off and lets other players tackle him. This has led to opposition players targetting him (like against Wire in the Semi last season).
In the late 80's, Wigan strived to be the best team in the land (and subsequently the world). By doing this the club had to make some unpopular choices by axing some players (fans favourites) in order to move to the next level. I feel we are going to go through this again. Feka, Phelps and Carmont I've heard, sad they might have to move on but if by doing this it takes us to the next level then go for it Maguire!!

| Pryce & Goulding I'm sure will stay as will Ainscough as he's not out of contract.
Who will go is being narrowed down.
We won't know anything at all until players have been signed and if any are overseas their visa's have been issued.

| Goulding is certain to stay. Wigan have the option for another year and I am sure they will take it after the way he has played this year. Ainscough is still under contract so he will probably still be here too. I think that Pryce will leave as I dont really see where he fits into this team and he will have to improve a lot to get a new contract.

We expect and see it off Fielden week in week out - unfortunately Feka is a hit with the younger fans more than most and this is were the cheers and applause come from I think.

| fielden has been treated appallingly by alot of wigan fans. his work goes un-noticed but to be honest i have never seen a more professional player. his work ethic is second to none and defensively one of the best in super league. We look a much weaker team without him on the field. i for one would be gutted if he leaves at the end of the year.

| I can't see fielden being let go next season he hasn't missed a game so MM must rate him highly
He is hardly ever injured which is another good reason to keep him

| Cannot see Pryce leaving now. He is first in the pecking order of the three at the moment.
For Goulding to stay he has to be happy being a squad player and not being guaranteed a game each week. At 23/24 now he might want regular first team rugby and will seek to go elsewhere to get it.
Can see Ainscough staying another year to prove his worth. If he does not push himself in front of Pryce and Goulding he will be on his way. Lets not forget we have the likes of Charnley and Thornley coming through too.

| Darrell Goulding must be one of the favourites for the vacant wing spot. He's had an excellent season.

He says as much in his interview in today's WEP.
Quote: - Neil - "“I knew earlier in the week I was going to get my chance – I was disappointed to miss out last week but I can’t really grumble, I’ve already played more games than I expected to this year."

| I think alot of praise has to go to the centres for Pryce and Gouldings try scoring ratios this year. Gleeson and Carmont are the best we've had in years its a shame they are both at the wrong end of their careers because we could put anyone on the wing with these two there
