A super player.'"
Pat is without doubt one of the best players in the world and I am certain in years to come he will become legendary at the club. Skillful, calm under pressure, pacey and intelligent (and a genuine nice guy to boot). There is not one team in this league (and several NRL teams) that would not want him in their team, end of!

| And just to think that like Roberts, Riddell and Pryce many on here wanted rid of him in his first sesosn.
I remember one poster who wrote "I'll carry his bags to the airport" (or was it Wakefield)

Aren't we happy that deal to take him along with Vaealiki to Wakey didn't go through.
With him and now famous, it shows that sometimes players need time to settle in.

To be fair we bought one of the best wingers in the world and played him at centre for a full season. After a couple of months, his confidence was shot and he did look a catastrophe of a signing. Thankfully when played in his rightful position he quickly found his NRL form, this also coincided with being handed the goal kicking duties.

He actually played more games on the wing that year.

Sincere apologies for overstepping the mark
To be fair to NickyKiss though, he was dreadful that year and that may be partly due to him playing centre for the first half of the year along with playing in an incredibly poor team that was incredibly low on confidence.

TBH, considering how poor the team around him was, combined with him playing out of position, he didn't have a bad strike rate in either position really.
These are his stats:
Pos---Games-----Tries------Strike-Rate
1-------1----------0----------0.0
2-------7----------5----------0.71
3-------9----------4----------0.44
4-------0----------0----------N/A
5-------7----------4----------0.57
Combined totals
Wing----14-------9----------0.64
Centre---9-------4----------0.44
Total----23------13---------0.56
A better than 50% strike rate is not bad at all for a guy "low on confidence" and "having a stinker", due to to "playing out of position".
Reading those stats, I don't believe that he was anywhere near as bad as people (myself included, I'll admit) seem to think he was.

I find that most interesting. Thanks for putting it up. There's still plenty of anti- Millward ammo out there but this puts 1 myth to bed nicely IMO.

| Its players like Paddy and Lockers who really deserve to win something with Wigan. They've been through all the sh*t with us fans and have now come through the other side. Lets hope we see these lads lifting a major trophy in the cherry and white sooner rather than later. You could see how much the game at Leeds meant to Paddy, he was close to tears at the end, he's got true passion for our club!!

No problem JJ.
I only collated the figures.
All the thanks go to Bilko for providing the data in the first place.
