Course you would. This is a massive game for an underperforming, but improving Leeds, and an overachieving Wigan in a knockout quarter final. Potential 20k gate easy. |

Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot
Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good

I guess it's only a Saturday afternoon game because BBC selected it for coverage? Otherwise, Friday 8pm made more sense to me - would've avoided any clash at all with the cricket next door.

Leeds have halved their ground capacity to just 10,000 for their Carnegie Challenge Cup quarter-final with Wigan later this month because of a clash with cricket.

Two Leeds Wigan cup games were played in 2007 and 2008 - one was definitely a quarter final. One brought in 9,6k and the other brought in 10,1k.
This reminds me of something that was blown completely out of proportion back in 2004 when the Halton Stadium was picked as the venue for the Wigan v Wire cup semi. Everyone was convinced the tie could have brought in 20k + whilst in the end the Halton Stadium didn't even sell out.
When season ticket holders can't get in for free (for any game) there will always be a huge decline in the potential attendance. |

Same happened last year for the semi against wire. We should really be getting bigger gates for semi-finals. |

I do find it strange that the capacity has to be cut by around 60%. A small concession I can understand but what an insult to such a great club as Leeds.
If anything though this may help Wigan - far less of an intimidating atmosphere.
