39110_1363272058.jpg Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot
Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good
-
sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league
-
Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate
-
the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever
-
Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go
-
Saint94..Every team is in your feckin shadow, we all know

If both teams are still around the top 3 then I don't think that will stop a 23k+ crowd.

Never mind the horses, they have JLS live after the racing! Gotta choose the Sunday date now surely?

| I find this disgusting if true; I have bought my Girlfriend tickets for that aforementioned Races/JLS day as an early Birthday present and I think that them changing it just because ANOTHER SPORT is being played on TERRESTRIAL TV is disgraceful. To be fair anyone who is a real fan will be watching it because I know that I would choose Wigan over England any day on TV if I ever had to. I can't say to my girlfriend 'Hey you know those tickets I got for you? I cant take you coz my Rugby team have bent over and taken it from Sky as always.' I realise our sport would be dead without Sky's support but Sky should recognize that fans will be working and have other plans on the day that it would be moved to.
I wouldn't be ok if it was Sunday either as I think it should be the day it was stated. If Sky wish to show a Saturday game they should show a Saturday game that is already meant to be on Saturday.

It's a reality of following a sporting team. TV will always dictate scheduling and it has to happen. They put the money in at the end of the day. It's not like it's unexpected either, it was always bound to happen and They've even released dates for when games can be changed by (see the site rlfixture pagerl).
You and many other Wigan fans may well prefer "Wigan over England any day" but Sky are a commercial operator and it'd be daft to go up against a football game that WILL be watched by millions. You may watch Rugby League over it but pubs up and down the country (or even locally) would put England on ahead of Rugby League 99% of the time.
However, I have been tipped the wink (for reasons I won't go into) that it might not be Saturday, so all I can say is wait for the club to make an announcement. It's looks pretty certain it won't be Friday, but where it moves to remains to be seen. Just because Sky have announced that slot, doesn't mean they'll stick to it, as Good Friday proved when they initially wanted 8pm.

So do you agree or disagree that as a Wigan season ticket holder who has paid for a ticket he should be allowed to use this ticket and not be forced to not use it because he made arrangements on a day the game was not supposed to be played on?
I'm DISGUSTED I do not think it is fair that they can just change our game like that. Plus isn't this game typically always a Friday night? So its mucking with tradition like the non good Friday like last year they made.

To be fair, it may not be just SKY that want it changed: it could be in the club's interest too, in terms of attendance. Sure, all us "die hards" will choose Wigan, but a lot of floaters (from both clubs) may well pick the footy over going to the DW.

Then more fool them. They're probably the idiots that are hitting security staff and chanting "Watene" anyway so we dont want them. If they would rather stop home and watch England on TV than go to a live sporting event then sod em.
