How many is that now?
Stefan Marsh - Whitehaven
Josh Vievers - Whitehaven
Chris Tuson - Castleford
Shaun Ainscough - Castleford
Liam Farrell - Widnes
Ben Davies - Widnes
Neil Holland - Blackpool
John Walker - Blackpool
Anymore?
I think that only leaves Josh Charnley and Karl Pryce from the Reserves who are in the First team squad who are not out on loan.
Stefan Marsh and Josh Vievers will both get games too because Whitehaven are having a torrid time with injuries at the moment.'"
Good to see our lads in pairs too. Nothing like seeing a friendly face when you move to a new club.

I'd expect an attitude more along the lines of you can have a rest for the cup weekend if we are not still in it.'"
We'd be stupid not to rest some of our senior players who haven't had a rest all season when we have players like Feka, Pryce & Deacon struggling to get game time.
I'm not advocating sending our under 20's out to play. (although we saw what they did to the best team in that league during pre season ) But I do suggest we rest key players like Fielden, Sam and Gleeson and they’ve been through the wars as of late and we’ve got quality in Feka, Deacon and Pryce to replace them.
I can’t see the logic in putting a full strength team out when we know we’ve still got international class in reserve?
I’d personally go for
FB-Vievers
W-Charnely
C-Carmont
C-Pryce
W-Goulding
SO-Phelps
SH-Deacon
P-Feka
Hk-Mcilorum
P-Prescott
SR-Farrell
SR-Mossop
13-Bailey
Sb-O’Carrol
Sb-Coley
Sb-Joel
Sb-Tommy if fit
Now that team is SL class- Carmont, Phelps, Deacon, Feka, Mcilorum, Goulding, Bailey, Prescott and Mossop are all SL standard.
Also the good thing about that team is apart from the bench every starting player has missed a few games this season meaning we are only giving players a rest who have played every game i.e Sam, Fielden and Lockers

| It's a fair trek to Haven - will they train with Wigan all week, perhaps with Haven for 1 session before the game?

| Quote: cadoo "Of course there is a point to an U20's side.
Personally I think Wigan are doing an excellent job taking full advantage of one of the better ideas from the RFL.
These lads will be tested at a higher level now against tougher players and it will allow Wigan to make a more accurate judgement on who has a future at the club & who perhaps doesn't. It then means that when the ones who are good enough return to Wigan they are more battle hardened and ready for Super League & can slot right in.
Two of our stand out performers this year - Joel Tomkins and Lee Mossop have benefited from loan spells at championship clubs. It's a great move and one I am glad Wigan have picked up on.'"
Exactly. The point of the U20's side is to bring through Academy players. Sending them out on dual registrations is the final vetting process for the coaching staff; i.e. yes they've excelled for the kids, now let's see if they can do it against seasoned professionals at a lower level.
As you've said it's worked with Tomkins and Mossop so the club is going to continue to use it.

Thats it. All the players that have gone out are in their fourth year or more of Academy Rugby. The academy level is very useful but after time, mentally, the challenge can become stale and repetitive. I think quite a few youngsters in recent times have fell foul of that and without a dual-reg opportunity it ended up hard for them to prove themselves, and before they know it their careers have passed them by.

And Joe Mellor, though of course he's still injured.

To be honest, I'd say that was out of the question - especially given him performance against St Helens. I'm pretty sure he's now back in regular first team contentin, and we need him to be with our current injuries.
But listen, in Stefan Marsh you're getting a real talent. Veivers is pretty good, but Marsh is going to be outstanding.

I'm unsure of the loan situation, but Feka or Pryce for that matter, are not allowed to go out on dual registration as
1) they are in the top 25 earners
2) are over the age of 23.

He's played mostly at centre or wing for the academy / reserves.
IMO his best position is fullback, I'd love to see him play there for you.
