Really looking forward to this one with the promise from the coach that he will have a "senior" look to his team. I missed the game at Wakefield and from everything I have read about the game, we were apparently less than impressive. Not particularly bothered about that as I though Huddersfield weren't impressive in the pre-season game last year but they followed that up with a good season in Super League.
Having said that if we do not see an improvement I will start to get a bit worried, as it seems that we had the same old problems of discipline and ball control, which are basics and shouldn't really be getting wrong. I can understand that lack of cohesion and being unused to any new structures may have caused a few problems but should improve as we go along. However, if we still can't do the basics we will be in trouble.
Enough of the niggling worries though, I know that fitness and attitude aren't a problem this year and I really believe that the new coaching regime can sort out our technical difficulties.
So: BRING IT ON, we'll be as ready for the start of the season as we've been for years. I can't wait.

The wigan fans need to stand / sit together to make the atmosphere count.

Maybe Leyther Matt could give us an update on pre-match ticket sales? I wasn't going to go to this one but I'm considering it now. Should I decide to go I would like to be where the majority of Wigan fans are congregated whether that be sitting or standing.
To be honest, I'd have preferred it if they had done like last year for the festive friendly and allocated us the East Stand only. Less indecision that way. |
